They are doing something right there mind. I know someone , a black and whiter through and through who has a grandson at our place. Can't speak highly enough of the place.
The family are staunch black and whites. I work with his uncle but his mam and dad just want him to play football and progress. Only thing as we all know is money talks and them lot up the road have a lot of it now.
Was thinking the same, however the current regime have pulled a few rabbits out of the hat so there are reasons to be optimistic I think
Bit later than January but Elliott Embleton hoping to be back early March . It wasn’t ankle , it was his tibia - and he is gutted at not being involved at present. At 23 , he has never touched any alcohol and has been described as the clubs most skilful - he once did 2000 keepy ups and the ball never went higher than his knee. This almost from the horses mouth - his dad pushed me to the hospitals discharge area yesterday, I did ask him out if courtesy if I could post this ( I’ve never had the opportunity to be the one “ in the know” before so he said no problem ) !
I haven't had any nods . . . . just as I said above (last night) It seems like 'The Dude' thinks that it's a load of bollocks, and of course it might be (I've never been 'itk'), but this is what I've been told . . . . and I believe
cheers mate. He sounds like the type of player we need a bit like Simms Will compliment our tricky players with a bit of physicality up top
Coming off your line as a keeper for corners or free kicks is a big moot point for coaching atm. Blocking keepers and defenders getting to the attacking player who is going to head the ball, is something most teams practice. Just as defenders work on protecting the keeper so he can come for the ball and practice blocking attacking players. Different attacking teams have different strategies, i noticed Astu, had a job blocking the Oxford keeper in their FA cup game. The more the team play and practice together the better the keeper will become in sticking or twisting. Also as part of this gripping and holding on in the penalty areas is refereed differently it seems to elsewhere on the pitch. If deliberate blocking and holding on was outlawed keepers will find easier to punching to catch high balls at corners.
Definitely. It’s not a coincidence that we rarely score from corners and always look like conceding from them. And it’s something we need to work on as a defence, not just Patto. But at the same time GK’s seem to be very protected and more often than not when they come for the ball if there’s contact from an opposition player it’s given as a free kick. Granted we’ve had more than our fair share of injuries but it’s another reason why I’d prefer Ballard to O’nein to play alongside Bathh. We’ve got a small squad as it is I think 2 towering centre backs are a must for us. When the time comes I’d like to see us replace Evans with a taller holding midfielder. Rodri, Fabinho, Busquets - all big strong players that are like having another centre back in the box on set pieces. Even Partey and Casemiro are still 6’1.
