Dave’s daughter and son contacted me and they thought that someone mentioned to them some forum members possibly wanted to send a red and white floral tribute for Dave’s funeral. For those that wanted to do this, the family has asked if they could be sent to A H Cheaters in Romsey for the funeral which will take place at 1pm on Wednesday 18th January. RIP Dave. Once a Saint always a Saint.
"It's God. He is asking if anyone has seen Ted Bates or Alan Ball as he needs them to help him." " Apparently some bloke called Jones keeps asking him technical questions about football and we know God knows **** all about the Game."
Dave's funeral service was held earlier today. Obviously, a very sad and emotional affair for his family and many friends. The theme of the service was how Dave had many interests and could hold a conversation with anyone but above all he was good natured, well liked and humorous. From my personal experience, he was instantly likeable and I counted him as a friend although I had only known him for a relatively short time. I truly thought he was going to get through his health problems and his death was a considerable shock to me and my wife. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him. RIP davecg69, a good man. @ChilcoSaint unless anyone disagrees, this might be a good time to let this stickied thread go now. Cheers.
You’ll always be a Saint to us on here Dave. Glad I had the privilege of meeting you a few times. I’ll unstick this now.
