    Even that is debatable.

Wood was really, really bad but so were Lewis and Murphy.

There was a moment in the game where a ball was fizzed in from about 25 yards to wood in the box. If it’s been a league one striker like Windass he’d have took a touch and been looking to shoot or create a chance. Wood took a touch then smashed a pass 20 yards backwards. He’s beyond ****ing words. As I say even in the cold light of no alcohol, if that dozy ****er is picked to play, I’ll not be watching the match.

He missed the ball more times, or as Roly said, didn't attempt to shoot when he had a chance.

Isak had one that was well saved from an angle. Which was the other one he 'missed'?

I like you mate, but to be honest the Isak > Wood comparison is making you look a bit of a tit. <cheers>

Yeah with better players around him because he’s ****ing static and clueless. As I say, watch his movement, he makes simple passes impossible. Isak by contrast reads the play so much better to ensure he’s in space. Isak has 3 (**** the fake offside) in just 4 apps. Wood has, what, 4 in 37?

Isak tripped over the ball twice... I'm only comparing the game ...

Fans ignoring one players errors while being unpleasant towards a lesser players error is what makes people look a tit and I don't care what i look like to those people .:emoticon-0148-yes:

I'm being fair .. i don't care how much isak cost or who's better Wood missed a chance many others did and missed more.

I save my hate for Murphy lascelles and longstaff :emoticon-0100-smile

I remember that as does my wife as I spent the next 2 minutes asking her why he did that.

    She didn’t know why either.

Having just watched the highlights again, I have 3 points.

First Wood and Isak both had 2 'misses' so honours even, rather Isak missing more (as you said).

Secondly, both of Isak's were on target and saved by the keeper - and both after he had created the space for himself to get his efforts in. Whereas Wood tamely side-footed a 'shot' at the nearest defender and then performed the horror show of ballooning the ball over when unchallenged.

Finally, as Roly said. Check out the movement. Isak looks for and creates space, either for himself or to bring others into play. Wood runs to stand next to the nearest oppo defender to effectively 'hide' from receiving the ball.

No comparison. Isak looks promising if he gets a run of games. Wood is not a PL footballer.

That said, I'm with you in that Murphy is even worse than Wood. We need rid of both. Soon.

Please don’t forget Lewis. I’ve tried but it’s not easy.

To be fair, Lewis is probably fourth choice Lb, but Targett and Dummett aren’t fit with Burn rested.

That said, not one of them is a top 6 left back, or even close.

If you're behind Dummet in the pecking order for LB then you shouldn't be at the club, you're just wasting your time when you could be at another club getting games

Defensively Lewis is terrible, his positional play, his timing, tackling - all poor.

The only time he looked 'good' was when steaming forward. Good pace, some intelligent runs to create space and did a couple of nice interplays with others. So I'd maybe even consider trying out pushing him up to the left wing, in place of Murphy (if ASM is still injured/leaving). Could cause defenders more problems than Murphy. Worth a try, can't be any worse and we might find he's decent there. But if not, then he has to be finished at the club. He certainly isn't a true left back, so he needs a team that uses a wing-back formation. Probably in a lower league.

****, I had the covid booster yesterday lunchtime. As is the norm with me I get a bad reaction afterwards and so woke up during the night sweating, with an aching arm, and shivering. The worst thing though was 'picturing' Wood hit that ball over the goal when clean through. Did that really happen or was I hallucinating due to the side effects?

Oh crap, sounds serious mate. I think you've maybe contracted the DeadWood mutation, the worst possible strain. Get checked out, quick.
