Hartlepool 3-0 Stoke City "Stoke City tonight have parted company with Head Coach Alex Neil. The club would like to place on record it's thanks for Alex's efforts"
On a serious note about them, it's this kind of "special relationship with the cup" bollocks that feeds their self delusion. Special relationship with the FA cup, a trophy they've not won in nearly 70 years and only been to 3 finals and 2 semi finals since they last won it. It's nearly 25 years since they were last in an FA cup final and 18 years since their last semi final. Yet that commentary made it sound like they are regular semi finalists/finalists. But long may their current tradition of early exits continue!
I hope Eddie Howe isn't asked into the chairman's office on his own to explain why they're not in the next round!
The commentary is as biased as watching an England match or club channel. "Matip got away with one earlier but unfortunately this time Allison doesn't get away with it!" **** me the media love them like!
That's a bad one alright, he's looking right at the guy. Can usually have a bit of sympathy if they misjudge distances or whatever but that's inexcusable.
Can't say I understood the explanation that he made a genuine attempt to defend the ball, why should that matter? I guess they've been dicking about with the rule again and it's passed me by.
