If its true that we are splashing the cash on a 20yo Georginio Rutte I have to think Joffy is on his way out of the club. First Dan James a winger is preferred by Bielsa and Marsch rather than play Joffy. Then 19yo Gnonto breaks through as a starter and now Rutte who’s the same age as Jofster. In fairness the fly in the ointment is Bamford, sell the fkr

Correct Doc but who would buy Bamford or take on that absolutely ridiculous contract he’s on. Face it we’re stuck with him sadly

We won't be spending 35 million on a 20 year old with only 2 goals to his name this season.

    Not happening.

    Che Adams might though.

I’d have agreed before 9pm tonight but Twitter has gone made, some big name reporters are all over it including Sky Sports Germany

Seems a very very strange one almost comical

Do it on an exchange basis, if Jesse doesn't work out they can have Joffy and after his exploits at Huddersfield and now WBA (Olympiacos aside) I'd take a punt on CC.

Rutter is a lot of cash and a big roll of the dice for a kid, but if this comes off you have a young powerhouse who can play anywhere from 7,8,9,10 or 11.. don’t think he’s been played as an and out 9 much hence his goals tally. You would expect that Orta and Marsch want him for a specific job though wouldn’t you?

Looking at the price for Rutter imagine how AC Milan must feel about spending over £30m on CDK and remember they are skint and have much debt

Maybe the price for young strikers is based upon potential. Johnaton David look at prices quoted for him now or the £50m Wolves are paying for Cunha who did nothing in Spain

Been trying to make sense of it all, staged payments so guess one is Radz is about to depart. Guess two we’re selling Jack for £30m and possibly James for whatever we can recoup

It seems the 3 strikers Leeds have been chasing are:
    1. Rutter
    2. Ben Brereton Diaz but Blackburn are demanding £15m even though the player leaves on a free in June.
    3. Viktor Gyokores from Coventry but they are demanding silly money and we value him less and are £4m away from them

I’d prefer Viktor Gyokores myself, 6’ 4” would offer something different and 11 appearances for Sweden. Everton are chasing him too, I’m just lost for words how we feel £18m is too much for him (it probably is) yet we don’t feel Rutter is too much.

BTW I’m basing these opinions on us having a £50m budget if we’re lucky and we’ve already spent 10 mill on Wober

Not forgetting that we could just about buy BBD and VG for the same price as an untried kid?

they don’t have the upside though Doc.. that’s the point with the chase of CDK, gakpo and this kid. The idea is they can help the team now but mainly that they sell for huge profit IF they fly.

Is it’s what’s best for the team right now? Probably not - so I completely understand the bemusement of people. Not saying I agree with it because I’m concerned about the here and now… but why they’re chasing these guys is obvious. It’s part of the business plan and the financing is outside of the day to day football budget.

Agree with you and I’m more exited about this one than Sinisterra because everything I’ve read about this kid shows massive potential

That’s understandable as we’ve been reared almost entirely on potential of new signings for past two decades <ok>

Anyway, if this lad is signing, let’s get it done over next 24 hours like other clubs seem to do. None of this nonsense of messing with Medicals and paperwork for next week or two while other clubs get to decide should they jump in and hijacker’s the deal. Also don’t Rutter time to google either the weather in Leeds or our league position
