The two sides last met in the FA Cup at this very point eleven years ago, when Scott Young's 87th minute strike, sent David O'Leary's side crashing out, at the 3rd round stage. Leeds have not beaten Cardiff City in their five attempts. You have to go back to September 2016, when Chris Wood and Pablo Hernandez gave Garry Monk's Leeds an unlikely 2-0 victory in the Welsh Capital. The FA Cup may be a welcome distraction for the fans, but with both clubs hovering dangerously close to their respective drop zone, Messrs Hudson and Marsch can't afford to lose any more players to injury. The hosts are without Cedric Kipre, Gavin Whyte and Callum Robinson (all illness) whilst Mahlon Romeo (hamstring) and Jamilu Collins (ACL) are also ruled out out. Kion Ete (hamstring) could return after injury. Leeds Manager Jesse Marsch is likely to make multiple changes to his line-up with Klaesson, Drameh, Firpo, Hjelde, Llorente, Gyabi, Perkins, Greenwood, Joseph and Gelhardt all expected game time. New signing Max Wober is also expected to play.
Going to be just a match to give minutes to fringe players so no great plan for a cup run, which pees me off, but because we’ve had a shyt season so far we are not in a position to try and go on a cup run, which is dissapointing.
Can’t look forward to progressing as we’re bound to not take it seriously but at least we should get a look at Wober
Just play the best available team, all of them. Show some respect for the cup and the fans, especially the ones who are travelling to another country. I heard we are taking 7000, is that right?
Think the team could do with a confidence boosting win, will lift the mood. Let’s go strong and progress.
Expected team v leek munchers Klaesson, llorente, firpo, drameh, striuck. Forshaw, gyabi, hot dog salesman, Coach driver,bamford,physio......up for it and about time, been to long
I've heard cardiff may have upto 6 first teamers out with a bug. Could be bollocks as I didn't click on it
Spoke to him recently on the Cardiff board. I'm sure he'll pop in. Good lad is Sparky. Just don't tell him I said so. Their all decent enough tbf.
We're actually putting out our under 21's against you - they're better than our first team at the moment. Nice for the chance to renew old acquaintances though - stay strong.
