Quinn and Phillips or the G force, Nial and Kev played at a higher level. but the sheer pace and strength Marco had was scintillating and Gatesy with his quick little twists and turns. For excitement I favour the Gs.

Now that's a close call. The roar that went up when Gabbers burst through in on goal. 2 different styles of play really. Reidy always looked getting the ball in from the wings into Quinn and Phillips whereas with Denis Smith, her looked to mix it up slightly. It was either Pascoe Cheb the wing it into Gatesy who laid it into Marco. For excitement only, I would go for the G force

Loved both and had some great times watching both ...

... but being at SJP for the play off semi final puts the G's at the top for me.

Not really a duo but Sharkey and Herd were names that excited me at the grand old age of about 6 years. Sharkey scoring 51 goals in 99 appearances for the lads.

In recent years it was M'Vila & Kirchkoff :emoticon-0152-heart

However I did love the Micky Gray and Allan Johnston double act

Nick and George were two of my first favourites, couldn't make a giant out of them if they were stood one on top of the other.

My memory of the time was that I was always Sharkey when playing the game, and giving the usual commentary on my own game, "and Sharkey scores his tenth of the match! " That was usually when I was playing against myself :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    I was only about 6 to 8.

I was really young, but a 23 year old with 50 goals in 100 apps is good in any time or team.

It would the G Force for me. They are favourites of mine. I think Quinn and Phillips were probably better, but something about Gates and Gabbers and that era. Probably the roker park era. I dont think in my time there has ever been a greater sense of mass expectation than when Gabbiadini went through on goal (or when somebody tackled Gates in the box <laugh>).

He scored 100 + in one season for the youth team, Sharkey and McPheat were a partnership broken by the Don and his thugs.
