notDistant.......,.,.,I see that you do not include nearest goal time to be multiplied by three.....why not ?

If you add a predictors points together then multiply by three...that would make sensibles....( nearest to goal time 3pts.... into 9pts ?).....plus his 10 X 3=30pts....total of 39pts ?

So sensible had scored a final total of 13pts for these matches... plus being multiplied by three....which I thought would tally up to 39pts ?

Not trying to be awkward notDistant but whoever gets nearest goal time should also be rewarded by times 3 as well shouldn't they ?

I just wondered if this had been normal procedure throughout the season......first time I've noticed it.

I'll give my wrist a quick spanking if you say no......ouch.

    Plym

The start-of-season rules aren't specific on whether non match score points (such as goal time points) are doubled or trebled on a bonus weekend. I blame Sensible for that because I copied what he said last season. I haven't gone back to check what he actually did.

Because I'm using a spreadsheet to do this, it's been doing the same all season: the logic is baked in. Subject to me fiddling with it (which I haven't in this context), it's consistently right or wrong, whichever way you view it. Having checked back, it doesn't look as if goal time points ever doubled.

I think that's correct and as I intended it. There is some skill in predicting the scores (for some anyway) but let's face it, the goal time is a lottery. It's been doing that from the start and to alter it now would mean revisiting previously declared results, which would be onerous and confusing.

Fine notDistant.....it's just that I saw the x1...x2...or x3 as the last part of the equation and made it more interesting overall and was the icing on the cake.

I'll just accept the 3 points as it happens for me very rarely. Thanks for asking though.

You've just leapfrogged me Lyndie so I'm not letting you get away with 2 jokers. Sort it out and whilst at it sign a new central midfielder.

oops , thought I might have got away with that. We've got enough midfielders. Considering the window isn't open yet I thank I've done pretty well...

Well done for reeling that one in Lyndhurst and also your appearance on the Evergreen video!

We are unanimous on three home wins: Argyle, Derby and Sheffield Wednesday and nearly unanimous on Bristol Rovers and Barnsley.

Jokers concentrate on those matches of course except for Plym, who goes for Ipswich away.

Three reds in todays four games.

The mighty Ipswich... (we shouldn't be in this division you know)... could only draw playing against 10 men for half the match (1-1)....dropped down to third....losing ground by the looks of it.

Sheffield W improved their goal difference today with a 5-0 against Cambridge.

Barnsley got a red card on 11 minutes....and lost to a Bolton side in form (0-3)....but they are a lot of points off the pace.

Derby won easily against Accrington (4-0)....but lost a player on 79 minutes.

So we are 4pts ahead at the moment.

The top match prediction score of 30 goes to Plym, including a full 9 points but he's matched in total points by Joe, who got the first goal time accurate to 3 minutes rather than the 30 that's been the norm in the last couple of games.

    upload_2023-1-3_9-6-33.png

Everyone got at least one 6 or 9 from what looked quite a predicable set of fixtures but the one that stands out is Joe's 9 from the rather less expected 1-1 draw between Lincoln and Ipswich, which also gave Sensible 3. Dark arts at work there, I swear.

Plym leaps into the lead and Lyndhurst continues his recent strong run of results.

There are just 4 games in the next set due to the FA Cup 3rd Round. They're all at 3pm on Saturday, which is nice. Standard rules apply.
