After watching a few videos, most notably this one:

Santon could be good for us on the right!

Santon is playing on the left for the majority of that video.

I meant when he was playing on the right in the video, because in most videos he's playing only on the left.

I think I'd play Best or Loven on the wing rather than shuffle everyone around. Could be suicidal especially when you're playing against City. :

Yes he did, do you not remember?! I still have nightmares about his performance at The Reebok. He gave their leftback the freedom of the pitch and cut inside to get in the way. I really rate him BUT only as a centre mid.

Incidentally, we do all know that Best is also a doubt?

Santon lost his way at Inter by constantly playing different positions at such a young age, we've already played him at RB and LB, I wouldnt be putting him on the wing as well. He's only 20, let him nail down one position before putting him in others.

Krul
Simpson Taylor Colo Raylor
Gosling Guthrie Tiote Jonas
Benny
Ba

is what I'd go for. Ben Arfa can be a match winner and I think the only way we'll get a result at City is to play him and hope he's on form that day. I would also have Tiote man mark Silva if they play him centrally, or have the wingers and full backs double up on him if he plays wide. He's just such an amazing player, pulls all the strings for City.

This ^^^^ :p

No seriously... Gosling looked ****ing out of depth in the middle and if he can't put a shift in the middle against an average Everton side then he won't be able on the wings against City. Also switching players from one wing to the other is a desperate and dangerous decision. Jonas looked even poorer on the right. And I don't think it's a wise decision to start Santon against a team as good as City. And as for Lover, he can be terrible but at least he tries... Loven all day for me

Gosling was getting slated on here after the game, I thought he was fine, just outdone by Guthrie. Again worth remembering he's only 21, we havent got a finished product here.

He did some good defensive work, bar the penalty claim as well as went on a decent run.

I still don't know what he was doing in the first place behind the defence, when he should've been in front protecting it ...

He has just cleared the ball out and was getting up.

When the ball was first delivered he was already in defense... and we weren't even outnumbered in the box. He should've been in front of the defense, protecting us from any rebound ..

He made a good run and after some confusion in our box made a calm clearance after removing the danger. He's got potential but I dont think he knows what kind of midfielder he wants to be. Depending on how we coach him, he could end up being attacking, defensive, playmaker, or just box-to-box.

I think he's naturally box-to-box but while see. <ok>

He can play as a full-back aswell(only in emergencies mind). Everton mainly played him out wide so I think he could do a job at RM, but I don't think he should start against Cty.

He's played RM more than anything else, so I wouldnt be too concerned with him playing there, even if he sees himself as a CM he'll be happy for the game time.

I wish people would stop slating Gosling. He's barely played for us, is only 21, cost nowt, and was out for months with a serious long term injury.
