Normally 2 or 3 players who run around aimlessly.

I'm taking a guess at JWP and Ely. (With Aribo and Edozie either side of Che.)

But whoever it is, it's no sort of midfield at all.

It does look a bit like a 3-3-3-1....<confused>

Oh a new formation of 5-1-4, that’ll be interesting

Dropped. Jones hauled him off against Brighton.

Aside from Mitrovic's goals, arguably the most impressive aspect of Fulham this season is the centre of their team - Pereira, Reed and Palhinha. So it's not an ideal game for us to only be playing one (very out of form) natural central midfielder.

Maybe? Because surely you don’t run a 2 man midfield of JWP and Ely.
Who knows? Hopefully the players do!

Nice to see Aribo getting a game. Could do with him finding some form

Hopefully NJ will have solved the issue we usually get when playing with 3 CBs, the fact that we get overrun in the centre of the park.
JWP and A N Other absolutely must stay central to close down gaps and to be available to receive balls from the back 3.
Ideally, for me, we need Lavia playing as the sole defensive midfielder, being the tip of a diamond with the 3CBs.

So then, a back 5 for the first 15-20 mins, go 2-0 down and then to a back 4.

Has Jones watched any videos of us over the few months (with these very players) that were a disaster every time we had a back 5? I also think that if Ralph couldn't get them to play it, I doubt The PE teacher from South Wales will have some magic wand that makes them play like superstars (or just competent PL defenders) in this formation.

This is my second visit to Craven Cottage. Think it's a cracking little ground, particularly now the stand by the river is complete.

I think they decided against it as Jones had some marking to do for the school kids.
