Have to say, hats off the KLD and the ownership model. As much as Ellis short tried, he could never get the right people in the right places. We never had a strategy in place and signed players and appointed managers erratically. It’s obvious we have a plan in place now. Which involves young players and exciting football, which makes you proud to be a Sunderland fan. And to do all of that in 18 months - 2 years is a phenomenal achievement by KLD.
Woke up after a good sleep and rewatched the goals and the beautiful tackle by Hume I honestly believe we are on the verge of something special here, the rest of the league will be seeing us a major threat with our attacking options. Saw Michut's Instagram post with the stud marks down his thigh, he will have learnt a lot tonight. Special mention to Tony Mowbray for last night's selection, tactics and subs he clearly believes in these lads and quite right he should. Haway the lads
Although our 4th was a cracking goal I actually enjoyed the 3rd more .. even though it took a massive deflection the movement and fast feet prior to it was just brilliant..
Michut has that futsal quality, sharp as a dart in tight spaces and quick over the first 5m. Be interesting to see how he develops. Ba is very explosive and takes risks on the ball and attacks the space. Very athletic. Needs to switch on out of possession but again very good potential.
Wigan man What a dreadful way to play football, they're an absolute disgrace ... ... on the day the game is mourning Pele they're time wasting in the warm up and kicking opponents up in the air while totally ignoring the ball. They can't pay wages on time but leave hundreds of away seats empty when our people were scrambling for tickets. Their manager appears to have instantly sunk to their level and just shouts at anyone near enough to hear. If Nathan Broadhead is the kind of man who ignores all of this simply for money or geography he's the complete antithesis of the players we want and, currently, have at Sunderland. We used to groan at L1 and pray to get away from that shyte housing, time wasting, cheating league ... ... 'frying pan and fire' was never more apt.
The good news for Wigan is that the next lot of our old boys they get will be of a higher quality than Max, Charlie and McLean (and Broadhead?) As we keep improving the players not quite making it into our team will, as usual, be off to Wigan. If we get promoted they should end up with a fair few good players as we improve our squad. All tongue in cheek of course but there’s also a grain of truth there.
Hadn't realised that was Wigans second 1-4 defeat over Christmas, their new manager shouldn't be making his new office too comfortable just yet
Tony Mowbray says he could 'feel' Wigan's fear of Sunderland in 4-1 thrashing https://www.si.com/soccer/sunderlan...3SLmi6-lQEpRm060v3Zu0Dtrs2lmmvvBx4R2r2kwXZfYY
Absolutely terrible. Full of plodders on inflated wages. Sort of players we got lumbered with under Donald etc. Their new manager doesn't seem to realise he won't be able to play he wants to with the garbage they have in their team.
Michut will be able to go back and genuinely say to Messi, "you've won the world cup, but have you won at Wigan away on a cold Thursday night".
