In the case of Felix, it could be he's off wide and Rashford or Martial is the centre forward.

But then, that would apply in the case of Gakpo. Which means we still don't 'need' him.

Felix is, however, a better player and more likely to be a loan at this stage.

Glazers not spending could be viewed as a positive though, meaning they won't/can't spend due to them trying to sell.

Could do with an idea of how long Toney is likely to be banned, as I still maintain he'd be an ideal No9 for us.

    Absolutely tailor made.

I think they're usually about 4-6 months. I was surprised to see how many footballers have been caught doing it, with several well known names.

Length of ban usually depends on how many times they've done it. I think one player escaped a ban for placing about 30 bets over a short period, whereas Barton iirc was 18 month ban for 1200 bets over 10 years. The rest are somewhere between a few weeks to 6 months.

Toney's ideal but it's fair to say he's useless to us this season however we look at it.

Knows a player when he sees one, you only have to look at his selections to bring in to know that.

I was impressed by the cameo Van Der Beek played yesterday as well.

Granted it was against a poor Forest side and we were 2 up at the time but I thought he looked good nevertheless.

It’s ironic that Rashford and many others had their worst season last year when Ronaldo was grabbing the glory. I really can’t help but conclude that we set the group back with wrong transfers. It means that we are more thoughtful with existing players before jumping in to bring anyone in. And looking at what Liverpool paid PSG, I suspect that we were never in for Gokpu.

Amad Dialo is not ready to step up, needs at least another 2 seasons at Sunderland

Saw him come on for you lot at Swansea, he didn't do much.

But then it was a piss poor performance all round.

Best player we've currently got out on loan in the Championship is 100% Ethan Laird.

I haven't seen him at Sunderland but their fans seem to be raving about him. His goals to games is decent, but seeing as he plays as a No.10, it seems to be more about his creativity.

A No. 10 is not really a priority for us atm but it's good if he's doing well out on loan.

Dialo was ready to step up two years ago but was held back by managers under pressure and too weak to take the risk.
I have hopes for Laird but feel Garner has lost his chance with the few opportunities he has been given, will be a decent player for someone but not us.

Tbf it depends, he may end up being a permanent signing for them. It could go either way atm.

He had a few 15-20 min cameos for us as a winger in a **** team with no direction or confidence. 10 is not a priority at the mo but always nice to have someone who can come in to change things or cover injury whilst pushing for a place.

Yeh can only be a good thing for us. If he offers us another option and is able to break into the 1st team then why not. He's only 20 yrs old so has time to make his mark.

One thing i always admired Fergie for was his treatment of young players, some got a chance and made it with us but those he knew wouldn't make it for whatever reason (too many better in front or not quite our standard) he let go for peanuts in order for them to make the best career they could.
Never held a player back at any time.

Again, that was just social media/media telling us what we should all think.

Not once have I personally ever said I wanted Conte or actually wanted Conte.

He's just another of the manager merry go round names, like Mourinho, Ancelotti, fat useless **** waiter etc. etc.

    Yep same here.

It'll be the same for Poch and Tuchel soon enough.

I'm pleased we found a name who's not been on the merry go round.
