Who is Going to be a realistic target for us in january? Ive no idea who will be available by then but id be interested to know what you lads think? although we have done superbly well this season and its possibly our best ever season at this level so far,i firmly believe that we need to strengthen the spine of the team as in my humble opinion it would be wise to build on what we already have in terms of our start.possibly cover or competition for the centre backs(which coupd be subject to injuries at any time) plus a real enforcer in the centre midfield area,as we have never really replaced ashbee.im not certain about up front but cant help feeling that if we are in the same position by xmas and the alams keep to their word that we could be a magnet for proven forwards who may want to come to our glorious city for the final push
Yesterday showed exactly what we need.... Adebola, but with pace, movement and a bit more skill. When Adebola's shot was deflected wide yesterday (after he'd taken about 4 minutes to get his feet in the right order to take a shot) everyone around me was laughing about how the ball going towards goal even seemed to be in slow-motion. Shame Stoke are about to snap up this bloke (below) - don't know why we don't scout the Eredivisie - loads of gems coming out of that league in the last few years. They say geography is against us sometimes, but we're probably the best placed in Championship to pick up/scout players from the Eredivisie. 6ft 7 - Michael Uchebo, out of contract in the summer. According to Kisser ag, we were after Harry Kane at Spurs before Waghorn became available, so we may look to go in for him. I think he's 6ft+ so he might be worth a punt. I would also like to see another CB come in. Yesterday I think that Hobbs showed his weaknesses and if we are to get to the next level then we will definitely need a quicker/ more positionally aware CB.
Lukas Jutkiewicz at Coventry....6 goals already and they're second from bottom. Boro had a £1.5m bid rejected just this summer.
We need another winger I think, I know Stewart is due back soon but if someone gets injured we won't have to play our best central midfielder out of position!
