They do, yes. Also those in the stadium booing what they're trying to do read it a and that does undermine confidence.

Why is it the only time we have a better home record than away is when there were no fans? We get on their backs far too quickly IMHO.

Some players look in from time to time and some in the club monitor social media/forums

For me the killer is this.... people are protecting this 'getting used to a new system a way of playing'.... these people are professional footballers who have been playing football since the age of 6 and likely at sort of club level since their very early teens. And yet, they still have to be 'allowed' to 'get used to it' as if its detonating a bomb. If those making mistakes came from the U'23's with very limited game time I personally would say that they will learn, but those responsible for this discussion and the "it must stop' thread haven't seemed to grasp it in spite of a nice holiday to Turkey and numerous training sessions.. how many more sessions do they need to adapt to it. I was thinking about this today, irrespective of personnel, are Blades, Burnley, and the others at the top playing this way and if so, what are they being coached to make it effective that isn't happening here.

We've got 4 points from the two games that it's happened.

The narrative seems to be that it's all going wrong, but neither the results not the performances really support that.

We may have only lost two points from the cock ups at the back but every time we mess up could cost us two points.
I've yet to be shown an advantage of messing about around our six yard box especially when we see our opponents putting our players under pressure every time.

But the game has changed in the last decade a lot and playing out from the back is still a new thing.

Look at our keepers, Baxter came through the Chelsea academy but he was at the tail end really of it coming through. It's also worth bearing in mind that he's not been coached at Chelsea since approx 2016, he's always been out on loan and none of the clubs he's been at will have played out from the back.

Ingram came through at Wycombe so he'll have done very little of it in his development.

Now compare that with Cartwright and Timmy, both will have grown up with it and know nothing else. Whenever I've watched Cartwright in the warmups, I'm astounded by how good Cartwright is with his feet. The difference between him and Baxter/Ingram in that department was quite mad, he's as good technically as some of the outfielders we've had in recent years

Goalkeepers dont have to be good with their feet when it comes to distribution
they can throw the ball past the half way line

then maybe Rosenior needs to be really brave and solve where the real start of the problem begins... the keeper.. the common denominator in these calamities at the back have come from both Baxter and Ingram initially.. If The French boy is good with his feet as he seemed to be in Turkey and he controls his box verbally which he seems to do and is a shot stopper, why not be brave. As for Cartwright, I rememberer when Peter van sorry cant remember the rest was here, of all the players we had he was most impressed with Cartwright. Is he still injured...?

We're 21st in the league, bringing in a young kid is one hell of a risk. Hopefully in March/April, we've got the breathing space to be able to do it.

Cartwright is on loan at P'boro but he's been injured all year.

Do you remember when Peter Schmichael exploded on to the football map with Man Utd, he was one of the first goalies who utilised throwing the long ball out, very effective it was as well, he even put spin on it to aid the receiving player, be nice to see us do that now and then, it seems to be much more accurate than a boot out

Probably just not putting all his kicks into the stand like Baxter and Ingram

TBF when Cartwright was at Grimsby and he used to do outfield training he was also the best player in that too

You do realise that keepers have more touches of the ball in a 25-30 min warm up than they do in a 90 min game
