Good Morning. It's Wednesday 28th December, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Premier League heavyweights fight it out over Meslier Manchester Utd and Chelsea are locked in battle for the signature of Illan Meslier, according to multiple media reports. The 22yo shot-stopper has been in fine form recently. Stats suggest he is the 7th busiest keeper in the top flight this season, making an average of 3.1 saves per game, and has also kept two clean this season (14 games). Should either club make an official offer, Leeds have the upper hand. Meslier has four more years left on his contract, suggesting any potential suitor will have to pay top dollar for the Frenchman. Recently, Bayern Munich contacted Yvon Pauliquen (Meslier's agent) to explore the possibility of a deal; only to be told that Meslier's preference is to stay in England. Whether that be at Leeds or elsewhere, we'll have to wait and see. please log in to view this image Fulham could terminate Dan James loan agreement Fulham could terminate Dan James' season long loan agreement, as they go in search of further domestic deals next month. James joined Fulham on loan on deadline day, but has failed to secure regular first team football. He has been restricted to cameo roles, and has become surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage. Fulham currently have two players, they have taken on loan this season - Dan James and Shane Duffy of Brighton. It is believed that should his loan be terminated, they would still need to honour their payments to Leeds until the end of the season. It was widely speculated that Fulham had an obligation to buy the Welsh International, but Elland Road journalist Phil Hay believes these rumours are far off the mark. With his price tag dropping quicker than a Conservative Party popularity contest, should Leeds look to offload the £25m reject next month (should his loan be cancelled) or keep him as an impact sub? please log in to view this image Leeds eye Wan-Bissaka deal Media reports are suggesting that Leeds are eyeing a move for Manchester Utd full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka next month. It is understood that Bissaka has dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford, and will be made available during the January sales. This season, he has made two appearances, one of which was from the substitutes bench. The former England U21 defender was signed from Crystal Palace for a whopping £50m back in 2019, but has failed to live up to expectation. Wolves, West Ham United and former club Crystal Palace have also shown an interest in the 25yo. please log in to view this image
Morning all I was reading somewhere that Wan-Bissaka is on £90k a week and has a successful pass rate of 33% why on earth would we want him when we could use Cody, I just don't get the logic in signing a 4th right back when we have one useless LB I posted on the transfer rumour page that there are reports we have offered to take Chris Wood on loan.
I saw that also (caught offside), then copied by MOT news. Last week Wood stated that he wanted to stay at Newcastle. He is certainly not a team player, and at (almost) 15 stone, has the turning circle of a double decker bus.
Wan Bissaaka is a decent right back defensively, he’s also a speedster down the right flank but no final ball, runs down dead ends like Aidy White, prefer Drameh. Dan James what a waste of money and cant even get a game for Fulham a team still one of the favs for relegation. He isnt an impact sub at Leeds because Marsch doesn’t use wingers as wingers, sell sell sell
Why dont the club just state we have no money for players and stop stringing us on . #Scot Parker looks a good shoe in for Norwich
But are the club stringing us along. Where have they said we’ve a January budget or mentioned targets. It’s all made up stuff taken from various websites and so called sports forums. You’ve just to look at the dozens of players discussed already in last few weeks and there will be dozens more. I’ve no idea where most of theses rumours come from but don’t think many originate with the club. And last January Kinnear actually said if we spent anything in January it would have to come from the summer fund. That was fairly plain
Wan-Bissaka played alright last night, but he wasn't troubled too much against a poor Forest side. My question is : Why would we be interested in another right-back? Scum fans opinions on Wan-Bissaka on link below. https://www.redcafe.net/threads/aaron-wan-bissaka-2022-23-performances.471410/page-14
That's three EPL clubs James has been at, Manure, Fulham, Leeds and failed at all of them, there's a pattern here please log in to view this image
Aye and guess which club is set to lose a lump of cash on him. Fulham can get rid in a few months. We’re stuck with him
If Dan returns, I just hope he doesn't hold up the progress of the likes of Summerville, Gnonto, Gelhardt, etc.
Is Max Wobel three times better than Kai Wagner? Because the price we would be paying RB for him is three times more than the £4m we would pay Philly for Wagner. So I still expect us going for Wagner as his stats say he is very similar to Wobel
He already damaged Joffy with him playing 2nd fiddle to James last season by both Bielsa and Marsch who only played him because we spent big on him
Two seasons back, we were closely with left back Romain Perraud, but missed out on him to Southampton, and we ended up with Junior Firpo. He's as useless as Firpo.
Was Dan James a failure when he started in our 3-0 win over Chelsea (21stAug) ? Started against Brighton the following week (27th Aug) was subbed after 59mins and then bombed out of the club 4 days later on transfer deadline day (31st Aug). Losing his his starting place to Sinisterra is no disgrace and was simply manger/coach preference at the time, plus it's a squad game anyway these days with the 5 subs rule. Poor decision as we could have have done with him tonight against Man City. Let's face it we're a strange club when it comes to transfers both in and out as proven time and time again.
Oh and for those stating that Dan James is a pile of stinking dog poo just look at what Eddie Howe has done with Almiron & Joelinton at Newcastle.
