Fair play to you newcastle. Continue to surprise me. When you hired Howe thought would be very meh. Never really rated him at Bournemouth as played some nice football but we’re always so open at the back. He’s come in and done brilliantly. You’ve spent a bit of money but I think even looking at that squad, just going on names, maybe Trippier & Bruno are only ones you’d say would get into other top sides, but players like Joelinton, Pope, Almiron all been quality. The money spent has been quite big, but it’s not like it’s 500m in 2 seasons to take a team from bottom half to top 4. No doubt have also been helped by some poor form from us, spurs, United & Chelsea (bit like year Leicester won the league) but deservedly where you are. Wondered if after the WC, you’d lose some momentum, but smashed Leicester and that’s without Isak and Wilson.
I'd rather be in that position than fluking 2-1 wins at home to Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.
