The difference is that their sum is greater than their parts - we seem to be the polar opposite at the moment
This is the crux of it. The young and hungry players under Lambert fought like a team to get results. Too many of our present players think they can succeed by just turning up with technical skills and little passion to fight for results. I wouldn't mind seeing Mark Robbins come in as manager. He's done a great job at Coventry.
Last night was not a performance fighting for their boss . Same old sloppy disjointed **** with another couple of sloppy goals conceded. If they don't sack him before the Reading game Carrow Road will either be half empty or a public lynching .
I can't remember the last time I've been this uninterested in our football team before. We've had bad managers before, but Smith is sucking the life out of this club. He should have gone before the World Cup started, giving us time to bring in a new manager.
I agree. My wife asked me when City play next and I didn't know and, if I'm honest, I didn't really care. It's not just losing to teams we should beat, it's doing it in such a lifeless manner.
It's also having a manger who doesn't want to be here, not even trying to have any relationship with the supporters, instead blaming us. We have no style of football, it's all just so dull and joyless.
Seen it on facebook too, though I accept it could be bollox. it's not like FB is that reliable, but we can hope
A belated Christmas present, but I'd take it. I was never excited when he came, but I always like to give a new manager time. But felt like we were always going backwards with Smith.
If true, hopefully after the fans have United against Smtih we can all be United in support of whomever the new manager will be
I could not see logic in employing someone who had been sacked by a club struggling in the same division as us only a matter of hours before. It was said that we had to give him time to assemble his own squad. Two transfer windows later.......? Also, if any manager arrives at any club they should be able to adapt and utilise the existing personnel with good effect otherwise they should not be employed. We should have called time before the world cup to give time to recruit and embed the new man before the Swansea match. Bad control and decisions from the top.
I do believe a manager should be given time, and bring in players they want. Just look at Arsenal, they struggled when Arteta went there, now he has brought in players he wanted and top of the league. But I do agree, it seemed like an odd appointment hiring a manger who just got sacked for like losing 8 games in a row.
