Well I've had a good sleep and am still buzzing after seeing us yesterday.

To a man they all played their part, we made Blackburn look awful and played some delightful football.

Felt to me like Dan Neil played more on the front foot and while he did the defensive side very well, he also had a bit more freedom going forward and we benefitted from that imo.

That front 4 / 5 though, with Roberts, Clarke, Amad, Stewart and Simms. Teams will be concerned how we can hurt them and boy when it clicks we can hurt teams.

I love watching these lads play, some of the close control, the little passes was absolutely top draw, we also do the hard work as well, Evans mopping up in front of the defence and 09 and Ballard won every battle.

Amad put a great shift in and didn't shirk his defensive duties and with Roberts and Clarke to worry about Blackburn couldn't double up on them and nullify their threat

Was very impressed with Clarke a winger who does so much defensively
Don’t get many with that work rate
    But Amad is the boy

the first touch is out of this world. Composure in the extreme whilst also being technically perfect.

The reason the Simms goal looks scruffy in real time is because there is no way any player has the right to do what he did, how he did it.

It was right in front of me and even then I thought it was a scrappy, fluke of a finish. Watched it back and it's top draw.

He does the hard bit first by getting into position and making sure he gets the ball. He then has the time to toe poke it towards goal. Great composure for the 91st minute.

Just watched the 90 minutes for the first time and thought Blackburn couldn't live with our pressing and quick passing.
Their goal was a complete fluke and Patto only had one shot worthy of note to deal with.
If I was one of their 2000 who travelled I'd be wondering how they are top three.
Our work rate is immense, just hope we've left something in the tank for Wigan.
TM must be applauded for changing things around, yes injuries might have forced his hand a bit but we were seamless at the back whether it was a 4 or a 3.
We've got lads who step up from the bench and were really going to need them this coming week.
As previously mentioned 09 is a class act, show me a more committed footballer and I bet you can't, his reaction when Ross scored and he was last on the pile on top of Ellis, brilliant.
How many times have we failed in front of a big crowd, but not yesterday, the whole squad and manager stepped up, the future is bright, the future is red and white.HTL.

    Class post.

Was a shame to see both fullbacks off with injuries yday though. Both had good games and compliment their wingers very well. Both Roberts and Clarke back to their best with the overlaps and good quality into them from Gooch and Cirkin.

Yep. But everyone does this now. I'd have Amad on the half way line, it puts their goalie back in his D, needs two defenders to make sure of Amad, and one or two to fill the hole in between our box and the centre circle. Empties the box a bit, and gives you an out ball under pressure.

But few do this now, it's all about numbers.

A cracking performance from all the lads and well deserved 3 points. Some of the link up play between Amad, Robert’s, and Gooch was absolutely fantastic stuff. Clarke puts so much work in going forward and defensively it’s great to see that attitude from a young lad. Looking fairly solid at the back Ballard will get stronger as he regains fitness and Onien is just incredible at the minute. Neil had his best game for a while and let’s not forget the work Evans does the man just plays it simple and does the dirty work so well. It’s great to see LND back his work rate is incredible and such a threat. As for Simms goal it looked scruffy from where we were but on watching it back it is pure quality and the determination by the players to create that chance in the last few minutes was just awesome. As for Blackburn you got what you deserved nowt, a dirty niggly team who some how managed to finish with 11 players. On to wigan and Blackpool and a great chance to cement our place in the play off places.

What the **** was it with them singing about Shearer? Do they not realise it was nearly 30 years ago he played for them? And I bet most of the ones singing it never saw him play for Blackburn! Idiots

I’m going to stretch reality and say we have finally scored from. Freee kick… Second goal was a free kick by O’Nien high eventually ended up in the net. So that’s that monkey off our back surely?

Just a nice footnote to yesterday's game.
Some of my wife's (NOR) extended family were in Player's Lounge yesterday and 09 went round to everyone in the room and wished them a Merry Christmas and had a chat. As others have said previously he's a superb ambassador for us.
They also said that Ross Stewart was in with his parents and was very polite and friendly.
    Great stuff by the lads.

    It's absolutely infantile.

Shearer won nothing with Newcastle, missed a penalty against Sunderland and lost at home to us ...

... they'd be better off singing about Inter Toto winning Scott Parker <laugh>
