Another game against one of TMs old teams, and his record against them is shocking, He even “bigs” them up FFS!!

The best we can hope for is a draw or a decent performance.

    I fear 1-2

Rotherham the only side to have scored fewer away goals than Blackburn this season… I hope we get at them from the start.

The ref was the only reason they took 3 points last time! Hope the lads remember it and it fires them up!

Merry Christmas RTB thanks for another year of superb match threads.

Looks like it's going to be Stewart and Simms together, I don't know about anyone else but I'll be buzzing if that's what gets announced Boxing Day morning.

Such a simple concept but it's made me admire Mowbray a little more. Most new managers come in with a point to prove, tell the players to forget the past and want to 'put their stamp' on the club. Mowbray is giving the players time, and a bit of leeway, while he's taking a bit of flak. Some might take it as an excuse but I'm choosing to believe him.

"Tony Mowbray says he is trying to be ‘gentle’ in implementing his own style of play on Sunderland due to the turnover of managers at the club.

Sunderland have had three managers in 2022, with Lee Johnson starting the year in the hotseat before being replaced by Alex Neil in early February.

Neil then unexpectedly walked out to join Stoke in a row over transfer policy, opening the door for Mowbray to take over.

He, though, believes such a quick turnover of managers has been very difficult for the players, so while he wants to assert himself and his methods at Sunderland, he is mindful that he has to do it slowly."

Thanks again RTB for setting up each game so perfectly <applause>, as for the team my only prediction is Ballard and O/*9 central in the back 4, and a wild guess that he could go with Simms and Stewart from the off, but who knows. I am expecting a tight game, but lets hope for a buzzing atmosphere at the SoL to launch us into next year with a win. OaU

Blackburn have not drawn this season. Means nowt just thought I would mention it as in the old SAFC days it would have been a nailed on point each haha.

I also believe we have a terrible Boxing Day record. 3 wins from 13.

Lets make sure we just get the win. An ugly nervy 1-0 will suffice but would prefer to have the game sewn up by HT with a LND HT.
