Christmas is my favourite time of year but will be tinged with sadness as we lost my lovely mum at the end of September and I’m sure there will be many tears shed. Make the most of life as you never know what is around the corner and I want to wish everyone a healthy and very Merry Christmas. After the recent bad weather and falling on black ice on Saturday, I’ve escaped relatively lightly despite landing with a bang as well as banging my head on the car. You could say it knocked some sense into me!

I want to apologise to anyone who had their photos taken by me either yesterday at the Open Training Session or at the friendly game tonight because due to a malfunction with the SD card, sadly I lost the majority of the photos I’d taken. Hopefully I will see people again soon and can take some more.

Team: Klaesson, Ayling, Kristensen, Aaronson, Roca, Gelhardt, Gnonto, Koch, Greenwood, Forshaw and Struijk.

Subs: Llorente for Koch (45), Joseph for Forshaw (62), Firpo for Kristensen (67), Gyabi for Aaronson (80), Hjelde for Struijk (80).

Leeds lost the game 4-2 with Koch (12) and Gelhardt (penalty 90) the scorers.

    Referee: Andy Madley.

    Attendance: 20,978.

The game kicked off five minutes late due to the late arrival of the Monaco team. Leeds took an early lead before Monaco equalised 13 minutes later. Although it was a practice match as such, and despite Leeds coming close a couple of times, there weren’t too many chances for either team as went in level at the break.

With Llorente on for Koch, the second half saw Monaco score three goals in quick succession within the open nine minutes. We were wide open at times and were taken to the cleaners as they made it look so easy. Despite Gnonto looking bright, I was worried when he went down injured a couple of times plus, I wanted him to be taken off as a precaution, but he stayed on for the 90 minutes. With Gelhardt scoring from a penalty in the 90th minute, I was glad when the final whistle blew. As a warmup before getting back to league action against Man City next week, it wasn’t good to see and doesn’t bode well. However, I’ll remain positive in the meantime and hope our injury situation has improved by the time we play them. See you then, LUFC – Marching on Together with Follow Me and Leeds United.

A few years ago I lost data on an SD card but was able to recover most of it by using some software I downloaded from the web. Alternatively a trip to a computer tech shop may help you recover the data. Just a thought, but as always be careful with what you download from the web.

How much of a difference do you think Meslier would have made?

To be honest I’m not sure. Klaesson was left exposed just as Meslier is so probably not too much. I hope Meslier recovers well and quickly from his glandular fever though as he’ll be a big loss if not.
