    Match preview;

Cardiff sit 20th in the table, having won one of their last five...and returning after the World Cup they have only managed an away draw with Stoke, then a home draw with 22nd placed Blackpool. Their top scorer is Callum Robinson, with only 4 goals...and that is a telling stat as scoring goals has been their problem. Only bottom of the table Huddersfield Town (19) have scored less than Cardiff (20) so far this season. They've only conceded 28, one more than us, so it is pretty clear that their problems lie up front. Mark Hudson replaced Steve Morison in September after they won just two of their first nine games.

As for us, after a disappointing return against Burnley, Critchley's arrival seemed to turn the tide, and led to a great win away. Depending if you believe the rumours or not, we've got the manager we originally wanted but without the price tag! Looking at the table, we are somehow still in the playoffs...I say 'somehow' as we lost four in a row! We need a couple of wins to solidify our position in the top six, and push on from there.

Hope you all have a good one, shared with loved ones, and receive many QPR related gifts on Christmas morning. I mentioned to my wife that I haven't had a new QPR shirt for near on a decade, not sure she took the hint though...or she chose to ignore it. :emoticon-0112-wonde

    Team News
QPR: Stefan Johansen will miss out, but Tyler Roberts and Luke Amos could return to the squad.

Cardiff City: Isaak Davies will miss out.

    Pre-match Talk
Neil Critchley (QPR head coach): “It will be a great game at a great stadium.

"Cardiff have some very good players in their team and we know it will be a really tough game, but it's one we will look forward to off the back of a good victory at Preston last weekend. Three points on Monday would certainly set us up for two tough home games which follow shortly afterwards.”

Mark Hudson (Cardiff manager): “They (QPR) are a good side, they have got good individuals, midfield, and a frontline with good rotations.

"They got a good result from their last match, but we want to build on our last outing and will look to get the three points on Boxing Day.”

    ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

Aaah, how sweet. Is the QPR board hosting a Christmas armistice between the towering twin pinnacles of principality based football (at least until Wrexham get up to speed)? It’s just like the trenches in the Great War on Christmas Day.

    Merry Christmas lads.

    Up the Rs.

    You too.

We are a complete unknown at the moment, good win last weekend, absolutely dire against Burnley the week before. New manager etc etc. I have no idea what to expect. I doubt you will see many Rs fans there with the trains and the stupid kick off time, which is a shame because our away support is usually great. I love Boxing Day games but the old tradition of having (relatively) local derbies and lunchtime kick offs seems to have been killed by telly.

I may have this wrong, but your team's sudden inconsistency seemed to coincide with all that speculation surrounding the manager and the subsequent uncertainty about a replacement. Fro what I have seen, QPR are considerably above the average of this term's Championship sides.

For our part, we were hoping for a complete change of style in the way we play and we're ready to accept a mid table finish whilst in transition. However, after a really positive start, we seem determined to snatch regression from the jaws of progression. A manager sacked for unclear reasons and a replacement put in place in the cheap - again.

Agree on the Boxing Day comments. Unfortunately, tradition isn't a profitable commodity for the media moguls.

Anyway, for those heading down the M4, have a safe journey in both directions. Good luck for the rest of the season and I hope you make it to the promised land so that a West London derby is possible for this time next year.

    Stay safe and warm.

Can you stop being so nice and eloquent, your making it hard to hate your team for past atrocities ? Have a happy Christmas and a not so happy Boxing Day :emoticon-0105-wink:

It's on Monday not Sunday, Dave.

Not that I'm expecting any one of us to turn up on Christmas Day!

    We’ll smash these.

Wonder where Leon Jeanne is now. Probably Pentonville.

Shout out to Aidan Magee who gave the R's a mention on GB News this morning............ For those of you who don't know him, he does the sports news on the weekends and was talking about Boxing Day Sports and the return of the Premier League, blah, blah, blah but then added that there's a full list of fixtures in the Championship an Leagues 1 and 2 and that Queens Park Rangers are away at Cardiff at 5:15 this evening....... Unfortunately one of the presenters let on that she didn't even know who Queens Park Rangers are even though they are broadcasting a stones throw from Shepherds Bush......

That is either a bad joke that didn't go down well, or really poor. Most people I talk about football with here (in Paris) know who QPR are.
