Welcome Nathan Jones, in his first home game in charge.
It will be interesting to see how the team sets up and how it plays, after his “pre-season” training sessions.
Might just be me, but I am expecting 3 CBs, getting the ball forward quickly, even if it is a bit route 1, with the team following the ball and pressing high.
Lincoln are sitting in 14th place, in League 1, with 6 wins, 9 draws and just 5 defeats, so maybe they are a bit difficult to break down at the back (?).
Time will tell and fingers crossed for a stream and that we can see a style of play and an identifiable system.
I will be back in Spain for this match, following a quick catch up with family, so looking forward to celebrating a win with a pint of Mahou, for just €2.50.

Badger I was under the impression that because you did the last winning cup thread (albeit on pens) your cup thread run continues <cheers>

Iirc the Matchday thread should be done by Thead starter until they lose a game only then should someone else take over. There should not be a separate thread starter for cup games if that makes sense.

Very happy to be back to worrying about saints and looking forward to seeing the Valley Wenger imprint his game on the squad.

It will be interesting to see which youth / fringe players are involved. I’m quite drawn to how Finnigan might be involved; a very tidy player who has a lot less fanfare as some others in the youth system but has maintained recognition internally.

I see Tella had no involvement in the Burnley game, yesterday.
Is he injured or are we calling him back and have asked Burnley not to play him, if that is allowed under the terms of his loan?
I wouldn’t be against him returning.

Tella has a nasty bug apparently and is resting at home……..and I wouldn’t be against him returning so Nathan Jones can have a look at him.

Interesting game. Surely he`ll set the team up the way he intends to approach the `winnable` league games coming up in the next 6 weeks or so. I wonder if he`ll find a way to play Tino, KWP and Perraud together.

After that incredible world cup, I am really struggling to find any ****s to give about Saints and the return of club football. It just feels so unimportant.

That said, I know it will be back to business as usual when things get going, especially if Jones can turn things around for us.
I'm not. Saints before England every day of the week.

I forgot Larios picked up an injury too. Didn't realise it was that bad that he would still not be back either!
With KWP and Perraud we at least have strong starters in those positions again, just absolutely no depth until Tino and Larios are back.
