Anyone received their season ticket renewal pack yet? With all the good news we've seen about them so far I can't wait for it to drop through the door, just to see if there's a catch hidden somewhere. For those of ye olde 606, I've finally been able to drop the Cini-Would Like Curly Hair Too, so am now finally Colly officially. Nice to see most folk made the jump, though I am still dipping in and out of 606 since I can't get on here at work, its a lonely place now.
Replying to my own thread, but its arrived! Christmas all over again. Everything as promised with the added bonus of 15% of cosmetic teeth treatments at Perfect Smile... Need to renew by the 28th to get the 10 year 10% off rate, which saves me a tidy ã66 a year. For those curious as to the letter from LambArse: "Looking forward, we will continue to invest in our development and academy squads to ensure that the future of Newcastle United is bright. We will also continue to try and secure our players and staff on long term contracts in order to provide a stable platform from which to build a strong and successful team". Read into that what you will, frankly I don't have anything better to do on a Saturday afternoon...
I see that Sports Direct profits are up by around 12%, no doubt this rise will be reflected in an increase in Greggs profitability. As for the season ticket issue, do you still have the ability to opt out without any financial penalty? If so, the club seem to be giving the fans a really good deal...............can't help feeling that there must be a catch.
It says you can opt out whenever you want but you have to pay by direct debit. I'm not doing it because I can get U18s price this year then I will move on to the student price and eventually the adult price over the 10 years so I don't know what price will freeze. Also it's quite risky because a lot can happen over 10 years to make the ticket prices go down, for example who would of thought in 2000 we would go from champions league to championship in 10 years.
Our renewal packs arrived yesterday, I'm renewing mine my husband is not. I also sit next to my brother and cousin they are renewing theirs. I'd like to point out all the other three all work away from home, my brother works overseas, I can't remember how long we've had season tickets, it's difficult to give it up when you've held one for so long. There have been calls in the past to boycott games, I never would because my ticket had already been payed for. I couldn't sit at home thinkinking, "Well I showed him". (Him being Ashley). I will support the team, I will not buy merchandise, I would not purchase food or drink at the ground. We had a forced seat allocation a few years back, my brother was so outraged he had a rant on a local radio station phone in, (and got banned) but up till now I have not found a catch in the new deal. I'm concerned about losing more players, ie Enrique and Barton, But Hey what can we do?
If we do get relegated though you could always opt out and renew with a lower league price? I'd be surprised if prices didn't drop anyway if we hit League 1 somehow! As far as Champions League to Championship in 10 years, Blackburn did it in 5, and Leeds in 3. Anything can happen in football...
After alot of thought I am renewing my season ticket's. I have supported Newcastle for too long and the thought of listening to Radio Newcastle just isnt on. I hate MA and what he has done to the club but I love the club.
No catch whatsoever as far as I can see. I even made Mrs Yawner read through the whole splurdge as nothing ever gets past her when it comes to money. Whats in this for NUFC? They'll save one hell of a lot in admin if most of us buy into it. No brainer IMO.
Got mine yesterday. Basically, my seat up in Level 7 will be empty/filled with a mackem next season, as it is being given over to away fans. Im gutted, love my seat and the view, standing at games, the banter with the lads and away fans, singing songs for my team in part of a generally good atmosphere. If i want to get another seat, i will be lower down, have to sit in my seat (a strange concept to me, ha!) and, with apologies, probably a poorer atmosphere. Oh, and an increase from ã378 to ã558. I'm in 2 minds, especially as i fear Jose, Cheik, Fabricio etc, ie the people worth watching, will be sold in the summer.
There'll be a new L7 Fuel, I was in exactly the same situation 3(? ish) years ago when I was moved from Leazes L7 for the away fans. Odds are that corner of the family end will be exactly the same as 'the singing section' is now. As long as a few survivors are there, and you're still near the away end, it will be noisy regardless of how many 'ultras' move elsewhere. If you're that worried move to Strawberry corner and try to build the atmosphere there more, we can actually hear those lot from pitchside...
I'm waiting to see the outcome of my letter of complaint.I would be taking on the 10 year option with the 3 years up front for a 20% reduction. But not if i do not get an apology.
Doesn't the 10 year price plan not mention anywhere that it has to be the same seat you have for the ten years? So if we go back to former heights of challenging at the top, they could move you to the cheapest part of the ground. Think Huddo Hudson was on about it,he's sort of a blogger/journalist for those who don't know. I'm probably going to be getting my first season ticket in 4 years this season, as I'll have a job to fund it so won't be able to get the price freeze unfortunately.
Theres a bit about requesting moves and price changes off the back of that at the T & C's, but no mention of whether they can move you themselves. I'd like to hope not, but you never know.
