Last day in school for the kids down here. I don't recall breaking up so early for Christmas when I was at school. To top it off my lad finishes at half 1! Bloody teachers <laugh>

We went for a chat with the lovely lady owner of a magnificent estate, near Stratford upon Avon, and were offered a great job. I was up for it but Mrs Smug thought it was overwhelming ...

... she had a point, this was just the hall when we went in through the front door.

The rest of the house was vast and every room was like a fairytale. It would've been a great festive period, they have all kinds of parties organised, but all a bit mad. I thought the Christmas thread was the best place for the video, it's funny when Mrs Smug's legs go wobbly <laugh>

It's crackers isn't it. Everyone ends up demented by the time the day itself comes round.

That's a rather posh place. I'd be frightened of breaking something

That's just the lobby mate <laugh>

They'd moved the furniture out as they were having a drinks party for 35 estate staff and their partners ...

... absolutely incredible place, never seen anything close to it.

Sounds mad to say it, but I'm happy for him. He lost his wife in Feb 2020 and spent the time since just missing her and declining. He was one of those people who thought he was nothing without his wife.
It's been hard for my wife, because she loves; loved her Grandpa but her parents have shown very little interest in his decline - she's had to force her Mum to go see him, visit him in the hospital etc
People are funny, You assume an ailing parent is automatically a trigger to drop everything and care for them, but not in her Mum's case. Been a really tough few months, so I'm glad he's at peace

My mum passed away on a Christmas Eve so I appreciate how difficult it can be to lose someone in the Christmas season when all around you people are anticipating the big day. It is a tough thing to lose someone any time, but it is made worse everyone else being festive and happy.

May your dad rest in peace and may the memory of his love keep you through Christmas tide and beyond.

Aw, ****e man - I am so sorry for you and I hope it hasn't affected the lads.

The only comfort is that at least you don't have all the hassle of a divorce to go through.

Same with my mum, it was tough towards the end and I was just happy her suffering was over.

My condolences to you and the family

I was on a meltdown that night I posted that on here. I've brushed myself off and I'm fine now but thankyou for your concern.
I own my own home, have a decent job and 2 amazing lads. I'm a lucky man really when you consider the world we live in today.
Thousands of Ukrainians were killed and injured yesterday including kids after a massive bomb strike from Russia.... Puts things in prospective
