    Match Preview;
Our hosts this Saturday had a much happier return to league action last weekend, winning 1-4 at Blackburn Rovers, thanks to two goals from Ched Evans after an opener from Ben Woodburn, and the result polished off by Benjamin Whiteburn. Ched Evan and Emil Riis are their top scorers, with 5 goals each. That win took them above and clear of us, to 6th in the table, with 34 points. Last week was also the one year anniversary of Ryan Lowe taking over at Preston, and at that time they sat 14th in the table, so he is doing well in moving the club forward.

As for us, Saturday's loss to Burnley was our 4th loss in a row, although it was a little more forgivable losing to the league leaders, after previous loses to Coventry, West Brom and Huddersfield, all of whom are in the bottom half of the table. However, big news since then, with news of the appointment of Neil Critchley coming on Sunday evening. Another ex-Aston Villa assistant, but this time with experience of management having managed Blackpool for two years, during which they were promoted back to the Championship. Our top scorers for the season are Lyndon Dykes and Chris Willock, both on 6. It didn't seem to show last week, but I am hopeful that the World Cup break will have been used to give the players a break, and so they'll have a bit more energy going into the rest of the season. Didn't seem to show last weekend, maybe they were just rusty, or maybe I am clinging onto whatever gives me hope.

I need a good result in this one. Living in Paris, this week has so far consisted of all meetings starting with, 'unlucky Dave, better luck next time', and as I picked up my kids from school today, one of the other Dads pointed upwards as they thought they could see the ball from Harry Kane's penalty passing through the sky. :emoticon-0114-dull:

    Team News

QPR: Ilias Chair will be absent from the squad due to his World Cup commitments, Stefan Johansen and Leon Balogun will also continue to miss out.

Preston North End: Alan Browne, Ali McCann and Emil Riis may continue to miss out.

    Pre-match Talk
Neil Critchley (QPR Head Coach): “It will be a very proud moment for me to be standing on the touchline as the leader of this football club. I want to give the supporters a team they can identify with, win, lose or draw we must guarantee certain things and that started from the moment I walked in through the door.

“I have been very impressed with Preston this season, they have a clear way of playing and how they approach games, they are in good form after a good result last weekend but we want to try and change the feeling of the players here and the only way to do that is with a good performance.”

Ryan Lowe (Preston North End Manager): “Queens Park Rangers have got some fantastic players; they didn’t start breaking into the top two for no reason, we know it’s going to be a tough encounter against a good team, but we’re really looking forward to getting back to Deepdale.

“They have had a bit of a mixture of results, but I think Critch (Neil Critchley) will go in there and put his stamp on it, but ultimately it’s about what we do.”
    ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!

Just been offered a ticket in a box by my PNE supporting friend.
I politely turned it down, I think I would rather stick rusty penknives in my knee

I'll take a 1-0 defeat, this isn't going to go well.

Club confirmed to me that tickets will be available on the day for anyone who is desperate and very very bored! Can't see anything other than a loss, but popping along to see if there is any improvement after one week of super Neil being in charge

Who’d not want to witness the paragons of sportsmanship that are PNE?

Surely they can't still be as bad as under Alex Neil.

Probably not, but I’m not one to let facts get in the way of cynical bigotry.

The way that Preston demolished Blackburn last timeout, I would say that we will definitely have a game on our hands

Just wondering if our players are as defeatist as our posters on here. Blimey … cheer the **** up lads! :emoticon-0136-giggl
Looking forward to hearing how the team lines up and performs under NC. Onwards and forwards.

Guessing there have been so many managers coming and going over the past decade, that many have lost that 'new manager buzz' feeling...not me...Critchley is the man for the moment...I feel it in my tonsils*...he's the one who is going to take us to the Premier League and keep us there! Got a good track record, young and hungry to prove himself at the top level. I'm not going to allow former managers, who no longer deserve to be named, to dampen my hope and enthusiasm for the future!

NEIL CRITCHLEY'S BLUE AND WHITE ARMY!!!

*I may, or may not, have had my tonsils removed as a teenager. :emoticon-0120-doh:

-8C up here last night possibly may be a doubt whether it's on. By the way Critchley's a decent manager

Critchley is very quiet and low-key, almost studious, isn't he? It makes you wonder how he's going to motivate the squad. Also, when you analyse it, the interview was a bit content-lite: other than the fitness of injured players, he didn't say much that I couldn't have said and, even there, it was hardly a comprehensive roll call. But I won't rush to judgement....
