Agree Rick. Another player who we tried to replace and never did was Vrancic. Probably our most underated player in recent years.
Tell you what, on the games i have seen so far, Id have Canada's Kamal Miller at CB any time. Been excellent so far! (Cue some kine of mishap lol)

Apparently we and WBA are tracking Villa defender Lamare Bogarde for a loan in January. Why? At 18 is he going to be better for us than our existing players? Or are we playing the long game, hoping for a permanent switch later?
Or journalists (or even more likely agents) promoting rubbish to create news, clamour and interest. All it takes is his agent to ring up one of our scouts and ask if he wants to take a look, and our scout would say “sure, ok, send me the videos” and then the agent can tell West Brom and journos “oh another Championship club, can’t say who, but from East Anglia (wink wink) are interested too”. Basically like any sales person - will stretch the truth to drum up interest
Apparently we have to share it with Werder Bremen though: "What complicates matters, however, is that compensation will be paid to all clubs players have appeared for in the last two years. In Sargent’s case, that includes German side Werder Bremen, from whom City bought the American in the summer of 2021."
Is that because they have some sort of influence on developing or ensuring the player is playign at a good enough standard to play? I don't understand why they deserve anything. Perhaps if it were within a year, another strange thing I will never understand I think.
That seems a curious one considering that Idah is fit again. Perhaps it would mean Hugill going out on loan in January. At 26, he should be in a peak period and he's only had 7" minutes in the PL this season and 3 cup matches. A loan would give us a good look at him and provide cover for injuries if there's anything in this rumour. Born in Germany with Kurdish roots.
"Idah, a 21-year-old international striker, has endured a torrid two years through various long-term injuries and Smith acknowledged his medical staff now treat the academy product as “a joint-compromised athlete” meaning his physical load will need to be managed as he “gets a bit of fluid on the knee every now and then”. Michael Bailey in The Athletic (yesterday)
So is the takeaway there that it's unlikely Idah can manage two games in a week? At least our physios have experience with Tettey's knee issues, which they handled well. Bit concerning for Idah though.
I doubt that managing Idah's physical load and game time will be all that difficult. It depends more on how the RoI sees the situation. At least we're getting Omobamidele, Byram and Sørensen back. Pity about Rowe, who was just getting fit again when the ligament injury happened out in Florida.
