Commentator going mad over Portugal and Brazil last night. Yes both put in good performances, but against 2 terrible sides who were set up in a clueless way. We looked imperious against Iran, but we all know it only matters against the big boys. Tournament gets interesting from now on , no more easy opponents. The acid test comes now, can we finally beat a top team in a major tournament under Southgate ? Something we haven't achieved up until now imo

A lesson for Brazil in that Portugal dominated their opponent without feeling the need to rub salt in the wound by performing arrogant ridiculous dance routines after every goal !

Declan Rice missed England training today due to illness. Hopefully nothing serious, and he'll be OK for Saturday !

If we go 3-5-2 Saturday one of Rice, Henderson, Bellingham will miss out. Can also add Phillips to that as well, so although prefer Rice to Henderson and Phillips it's not the biggest of inconvenience if Rice is out.

Can't see Southgate changing formation now for this game. Henderson will start whether Rice is fit or not, Phillips hardly had any gane time this season. We need to win the midfield battle or we'll be ****ed, it's key to the game along with how much ball we allow Mbappe to get !

I think he will, both Iran and Senegal created chances/goals playing balls to the side of Maguire who was isolated and slow. We cannot afford this against top notch teams and therefore a 5-3-2 we hopefully stop this happening. Can't wait to see what happens on Saturday!

I honestly can't see us winning if he plays 5-3-2, it would leave us short in midfield in my eyes and that's a pivotal difference in this match. It would also almost certainly mean dropping Foden or Saka and I can't see him leaving us that light up top. With Sterling unavailable aswell who would be the 2 up top ? Just doesn't make sense to me to be deploying that formation, we need to hit them fast on the counter and outscore them. Seriously can't see this being 1-0 , I can see a 2-2 with extra time and possibly pens.

Croatia equalise in 117th minute just as Brazil were thinking they'd done enough...
