No - I was too old to be playing. I was on the Committee of the Club for 6 or 7 years.

The pre-Regional days were much better in my opinion <cheers>

Hearing Eddie Jones has been sacked. Controversial? Wondering if RFU have shot themselves in the foot?

All coaches have a shelf life, Jones was definitely past his. When he started picking players totally out of position, like Tom Curry at number eight, and insisting he was the best we had, it was strange how all over the place his selection’s got.

Should've gone last year imo, his style had become stale and results and performances were just poor. Hoping they make the right appointment !

England have a very talented group of players but he’s not getting anything like the best out of them. Jones started this job like a train, a ridiculous number of consecutive wins, then ups and downs until the amazing World Cup semi final against the All Blacks, followed by an immediate downer against South Africa. He’s been around a long time, probably used up all his tricks now. The gamble is who is available and willing to come in, and could Jones be a tournament manager like Southgate?

You could do a lot worse than appoint Scott Robertson up to the RWC - innovative, successful and a players’ coach - with an option to renew thereafter.

I honestly think - with the talent at his disposal - he could take you all the way <cheers>

Borthwick appointed new head coach ! Not surprised but a tad disappointed. Good luck to him and hope he can turn things round for us !
