Didn’t he admit this in that weird press conference when he attended alone and talked for ages?

    Bit of respect perhaps?
As for 'being lucky' to get the club promoted back to the Premier League?? Strange how that luck had evaded all the other previous owners the club had ever had going back 100 years.

Meant lucky that the playing staff blend and the investment in Bruce gave us a chance , it doesn’t always work , hadnt Liverpool spent about 200 m plus in the early Klopp years a few years back to go nowhere - so luck is part of it - so many have tried and wasted it. I did respect him for a lot of things as you see I didn’t name call it’s too easy .

There was no luck involved in keeping Steve Bruce at the club because he expected and wanted to leave after the relegation, but was persuaded, (the word I heard was begged) to stay. That's not luck that is commitment.

Then Ehab comes along and does everything possible to get rid of him.

i genuinely think that season was more exciting because of it though
would have been a very dull season ending in relegation with big bruce in charge

    Not true.
Taken as your post is written, no other owner had the chance to get us back to the PL.
Taken as I think your post was meant to read, we were promoted to the PL under an owner before Allam came along.
    Not meaning to be pedantic.

To be pedantic, every owner had the chance to take us back, the problem was that they failed at the first hurdle, getting us promoted.

Slightly splitting hairs on my comment don't you think? The myth that Hull City will NEVER be promoted to the First Division/Premier League was well and truly shattered by the Phil Brown (don't forget Brian Horton)/Duffen/Bartlett regime. I, and I'm sure many other City fans had that drummed into us from being kids and we probably started to believe it. But that regime couldn't sustain it and we came down again, deep in debt, serious debt I heard. The massive task then was to get us back up, and my point was, this was not a lucky throw of the dice, which was the suggestion, it took some serious financial ambition, not to mention personal risk, and the Allams pulled it off.
I've seen many a good man and a few who were just the opposite attempt to get this club into the top league of English football. Before the Bartlett and Duffen regime, all had failed, most miserably, most getting their fingers severely burnt and the others fleeced us senseless to the brink of extinction. Point is the Allam's managed it, they got us promoted and for that alone I believe, as fans, we should recognise that fact and show a bit or respect. Not everything they did was perfect, far from it, but I'm sick of hearing how 'lucky' Hull City and the Allams were to get us promoted back to the Prem. Luck had nothing to do with it.

Serious debt? The revenue wanted 24 million, or else. To quote Adam Pearson "administration was not an option, there was nothing to administer". Before the ink was dry on the revenues check, another similar amount crawled out of the woodwork. From then on, every set of Hull City accounts had the directors note more or less a bust flush without support of the parent company. (That snippet also lays to rest the City money was used to prop up other Allam interests)
From paying a pound for City, he ended up at one point about a hundred million in the hole. He did well to come out of it relatively unscathed.

The initial declared debt to the revenue at the time of the purchase declared at £4.5m, with another £15.1m in bank debt, Assem claimed he found various other debts after the purchase that resulted in him paying off another £10m (and guaranteeing a further £10m bank facility), though he did have a tendency to exaggerate/completely make things up.

UP I fully accept almost all you’ve said my point about luck is not a disrespect of their plans investments and the rest , whatever you say building a management team and a squad that actually delivers has an element of good fortune - just look at all the premier teams that have spent into billions to stay where they are . And the teams throughout the years have spent fortunes in the championship etc to fail hence a manager roundabout. Even city had a few goes in the early seventies and failed. Biggest problem now us if you get a wonderkid they get sold and your attempt is halted - Bowen et al

I always wonder who and how, Ehab paid for his Lambo’s, pimped up Land Rover, his yacht in the South of France, some one was taking a massive income from somewhere to pay for those toys.
