Aye I'm a supporter of O'Nien and with good reason but when those two are back I'd be very surprised to still see him starting. It's a strong squad.

I love Onien but when Ballard is back he needs to be benched.
Onien got bullied by size in the first half which nearly resulted in them scoring.
Ballard is a 6 foot 2 man mountain and next to Batth and Alese we will create a brick wall

I don't know if it was specifically Luke who got bullied and Millwall are unusually huge but yeah I agree that Batth Alese and Ballard is the way forward.

Don’t think anybody would claim that O’Nien is / was / should be our first choice centre back or right back. it’s the fact he’s had to fill in at both, so often, when neither are his natural (or at least official) position; and it’s made little difference. That’s what makes him so invaluable.

I dare say before the season is out he will have to fill in at left back for one reason or another as well. And whilst that might weaken us slightly offensively, I doubt it will weaken us defensively. And that’s what makes him golden

Possibly my best and most succinct way of explaining Luke O’Nien - is he would never be my first name on the team sheet 1-11. But he’d always be my first name on the squad sheet 1-18.

Whether he starts or is on the bench, his flexibility and adaptability to fill in for so many of the players in their specialist positions with only little drop off in quality is why I’m so glad he’s here

I'm pished now mate but I remember him seeing him jump against one of them lot and he looked like a small child.
On the ground he's an absolute warrior but sometimes nature is impossible to fight against

It's also worth remembering Ballard played in the Championship last year while we were playing against teams like Cambridge.
He was voted Millwalls young player of the year and despite them wanting him to stay he came to us.
He's played 3 games so far, I'm excited to see his return

If it was Cooper he's six foot four, we should sign him. Looks a decent player and we might finally ****ing score from a set piece.

Yeah he's a quality player mate. One of my best mates supports them and I've mentioned on the RTBs page earlier about him.
He's been telling me about how good Cooper is for a few years now. Ballard used to play on the right of a back 3 for them last year in a team that narrowly missed out on the playoffs

After failing with Ballard they signed Cresswell on loan from Leeds who is another big prospect. We also tried to sign him

Is it just me or is Dan Ballard becoming the next Dave Watson, without even playing. He looked good but if we are going to wave him back in after 3 games we are in trouble. He can prove his worth but ONien is playing as well as Ballard did and has the shirt. Starting places are earned.

I always liked Rowett before yesterday’s game. But if that’s how he gets his teams to play then I’m glad he’s not here. Wanted him here a number of times

As a completely random, off topic reply, what would you recommend as a beginner bass....precision or jazz?
Genuine question mate, I'm thinking of getting a (cheap, beginner) bass....

I “bought” a Marcus Miller. It’s an unbelievably good quality piece of kit. For around £400 too which is also a very good price. Id go jazz as a big Geddy Lee fan but it all depends on your style of play. Get to a few music shops. Www.talkbass.com is also very good and I took their advice

Thanks for that Marcus, appreciate it. Not looking to spend that much, more around the £100-£150 max.
ive never played a bass before, so dont have a style of play, but rock is my music of choice. Bit of a Rush fan myself, 2112 one of my most played albums...

There's a guitar shop in Consett, think I might have a look over and try a few out, see what feels right...
    Thanks again...

Ballard was one of the best central defenders in the championship last season. Plus he's huge. Massive asset in both boxes.
