Towards the end of the first half Pritchard seemed to strain his groin. It was right in front of us, he was clearly uncomfortable with it. Surprised he came out second half TBH, and I suppose at two up the manager thought it not worth the risk to keep him on.

Im blaming Batth for the Patterson incident. No way should he have passed the ball in that situation. Patto was on the goal line with nowhere to go. Not the 1st time this season he’s put us in trouble

Did Pritch make a gesture to the crowd when there were some groans at his backwards pass from the free kick in the 1st half?

Felt like a L1 game today. Ref wanted it to be all about him and the opposition were more interested in fighting than playing football. All we were missing was the blatant time wasting

Great second half. Danny Barth was the boyo today for me. Solid. Needed it too as they were super effective on corners.

Tony Mowbray: "Patrick Roberts is the most talented player in the league, but I've got to sit him down in my office every week and tell him why he's not in the team. Amad's goals and assists are keeping him out - he's on fire." #SAFC

Well… I forgot my season card so went to the ticket office where I stood for 45 minutes (missing the first 35) whilst they took ages. 2 staff on. About 40 people in the queue. Utterly ridiculous.

luckily I got in fir the last 10 of the first half. And the entirety of the second.

Was stood in the ticket office and they didn’t even have it on the TVs in there ffs! I had to tell them to put it on so we could at least see what was happening.

Great second half. Amad is sharp becoming my favourite player! His football brain is a class above!

Simms I thought was excellent and fully deserved his goal

Mate as much as Ba’ath accepts some blame, Patterson was passed in to a lad on the 18 yard line he could’ve leathered it into the crowd. Has to be a big blame on him too. Can’t just not blame him cos he’s a Sunderland boy! If that was Lee Camp or Steele, they’d be vilified

Would agree if he learned how to use his right foot as well. Should have scored first half but wouldnt just hit it cos it was the wrong foot.

Maybe. I'm not defending Patterson because he's a local boy, nor do I think he had time to hoof it. Batth should take responsibility as a senior player and NOT put his keeper under pressure like that when HE could have hoofed it out for a throw

    Two things.
One that I mention quite regularly. 2-0 up in injury time. They chasing the game and get a corner. We bring 11 men back into the box. ffs leave at least one man say Roberts who has pace on the half way line. They will leave 2 men back. Leave 2 men up they will leave 3 back. Gives the goalie more room to manouvre.

Two . I dont like knocking SAFC players but Pritchards corners and free kicks are w*nk or have been for a while now. Anybody think we should give somebody else a chance?

aye. As I’ve said on Twitter to a couple of folk… Batth is immense isnt he.

It’s madness to think Stoke released him to us for free to free up wages to sign a 40 year old jagielka ffs.

That signing by them epitomises why I back our regime with what we are doing. Granted Batth ain’t young, but he was unfashionable and being written off at 31, by a club chasing a 39 year old “name”.

If we hadn’t signed him I’m pretty sure Stoke would be above us in the league now. Not just because they’d be higher in the championship, but because I don’t think we’d have been promoted last year without him.

We definitely need to leave one up on defensive corners to break away if Patto claims one.

Yes, it's been a while since Pritch scored a free kick, no harm in mixing it up and giving someone else a crack.

Bath is facing his own goal though. The ball travelled a long way to Patterson. At least 15 yards and not hit at any excessive pace. Both should’ve done better. Luckily it’s immaterial

Is this the first half incident you are on about??

If so Patto should have just put his foot through the ball, a first touch was suicidal but luckily he got away with it.
He's a young lad and he'll learn from that though. Other than inexperience I feel lucky to have him inbetween the sticks.

It was definitely Patterson's error for me but it does occasionally happen to any keeper when the routine is to pass it out every time.

I doubt he'll forget the feeling of nearly giving them a goal any time soon and will sharp learn from it.

This! Baath has been immense since joining, he has been player of the year for us this season IMO. Last season him and Wright were unreal together the last few months of the season

Aye, kind of a shrug suggesting "what the **** was I supposed to do". TBF he had no opinions.
