Belgium and Argentina have the same issue; old players and not enough energy. They also have the same issue as England; decent going forward but ****e at the back. Germany aren't what they were, they're nothing special. Love Holland but, like Germany, they lack the quality. Spain and Brazil look decent outside bets but agree that France are the ones to beat.
agreed, France are the best team, closely followed by Brazil. We’d be up there if we had a coach who knew what to do with the players at his disposal
Southgate infuriates me. Ponderous, slow, sideways play and full backs withdrawn to their own half…..it took him 45 minutes to realise that Foden is better suited on the left of a front 3 ffs… His negativity and cautious approach will cost us the second that we play a decent team. Wears a nice suit mind…..
I think the players we have scream 4222 (think Brazil with Cafu & R.Carlos). This gets out best and most creative players (Trent, Foden) in the side whilst maintaining balance. Shame we lack CBs (and a manager)
Varane is one of the most overrated players going. Just because Real bought him when he was young, there seems to be some myth that he's actually good. For a start he's never actually fit as he's either injured or just coming back from injury.
9 Changes and playing a Attacking mid at Left back Although he's been one of the better players for France
Still topped their group. Could potentially be facing Argentina in the next round depending on how group games go. That would be a tasty match early in the knockouts.
Last night's England v Wales game... After Neco Williams took a ball from a Rashford shot to his head, he left the pitch for treatment. When he came back on he did a run to get forward but was stopped by a Hendo challenge. Hendo got up and stood over Neco as he seemed to notice Williams didn't look right and he embraced Neco and Hendo turned and gave worrying looks over to the Wales bench. Neco was subbed and we now know he has concussion. @ Hendo
Over now, Saudi Arabia scored Edit; if one more Poland had been booked and the scores stayed the same, they'd have been exactly the same. Would have been a coin toss effectively
My FM 2014 game has finally caught up to 2022 world cup also being held in Qatar (although being held in Summer in Qatar not winter). England topped their group which includes Iraq and Wales. (Ok Iraq not Iran... But close). They just won their QF game against France coming from 0-2 down to win 4-2. Not sure if they will ultimately win the world cup, I'll find out tomorrow maybe... But seems quite an omen since France most people's favourites in the real world cup. If England win in FM2014 I'll start to believe they can in real life.
Who thought putting Roberto Martinez in charge of your 'Golden Generation' was going to win you things. Think the Belgium FA have alot to answer for, for wasting their best ever group of players
So in my game England beat Brazil 2-0 in SF after beating France in the QF and then Portugal 2-1 in the Finals. All those matchups are theoretically still possible. (It was Italy in round two... No Italy at the real world cup so isn't a perfect mirror of reality)
Played a rugby cup game once which was a draw, counted tries then penalty kicks and ended up being decided on a toss of a coin.We weren't complaining coz we went through...**** way to decide.
