Was there today and did enjoy the game. Obviously nowhere near the standard of the Men’s team but was interesting to watch and without the ‘nerves and tension’ involved in watching the Men play.

Unfortunately the goals were women’s football caricatures but in reality this is fourth level of womens football and not top level. That being said we did have two stand out players being a young striker and an ‘experienced’ centre back.

Well done the Lasses and let’s see who they get in the next round.

Oh and a record crowd of over 28500.

    Feckin hell that was terrible!

You see goals like this all the time in women's football - the ball gets booted up from nowhere and cos the keepers are too small for the full size goals, the ball just goes right over them.

The female commentators always lose their **** over goals like this whilst everyone else facepalms.

Jesus. I mean every 'keeper in men's football down to Sunday league is catching that with one hand. Seriously.

Women should play on lads U13 pitches. They're about 30-40 yards shorter and the goals are a fair bit smaller. Just make it more interesting. Watching women huff and puff around a full size pitch is mental.

I actually think there's a market for something different. This bollocks where we get tweets and headlines deliberately not differentiating the two is infuriating and actually a bit condescending. There should be standalone women's "soccer". Same basic rules, you just need to make it smaller and zippier. They've already got all the stuff they need, but it should be either 11's on a smaller pitch, or 9's on an even smaller one. Kits should follow the same trend....

I really can't believe that with the rise of women's football, no one yet has cottoned on the fact that most men's keepers are around 6'4 plus, whereas most women's keepers are 5'8 or 5'9 at the very most.

Thus it doesn't take a genius of a women's football manger to say to the team "just boot it high at the goal from anywhere on the pitch and if its on target the keeper's never saving it". I'm pretty sure I could win the league in women's football with a team talk like that for every match.

I agree 100% there's a market for a game for models only that just wear body paint rather than strips <laugh><laugh><laugh>

That first one looks like a wonder strike, but the 2nd looked more like a mis-hit cross?

It reminds of being back at school, we had a really cracking goalkeeper, great lad. We all thought he had genuine potential to go pro. But he just didn't grow from the age of 11. By the time we were 14 years old he was the smallest player on the pitch and the oppo teams just used to lob it over him.

Just allow the women goalies to wear high heels to give them more height.

A recent game had the full panel of pundits on the tv all female. They where celebrating it like it was an achievement and apparently it was the first time.

I’m looking at it thinking. I’m here to watch football. But clearly it was the mantra to make it clear that they were all women at a Qatar World Cup match………. And they say it’s all about the football.
