In a time and World when the word ‘great’ is so often overused Doddie Wear is one man that the word ‘great’ fitted like a glove. He was a good player but he was a great man. His fight against MND was admirable and spoke volumes about the man. If you get the chance to watch the documentary about him it’s well worth watching. Doddie Weir: One More Try RIP
Have to say, I 've been more of a rugby fan than football over recent years (true men trying to pretend they are not hurt, vs fairies pretending they are hurt). Doddie Wier was a warrior who put his body on the line. I respect that 100%.
I'll leave it here, I have the utmost respect for Doddie Weir, both as an international rugby player and as a man. If my fat fingers let me me down somewhere, then I 100% apologise. Respect.
By the way Trev (Mr Pedentic), might be worth getting the great man's name name rght in your thread title. Weir not Wear
