Let's try to get something organised regarding this World Cup prediction league that Furter has organised for us.

If you can all use the actual game prediction threads that Furter has put up for the individual games and then use this one for general comments on the WC rather than posting predictions on it.

It should make Furter's task a bit easier for each game rather than having to trawl through multiple threads. If you've predicted on this thread there's no need to re do it on the actual game thread because Furter has already said he'd picked them up anyway.

To reinforce that, I'll remove the "Prediction League" prefix from this one but keep it as a sticky for general World Cup comments and then unstick the individual game threads as and when they've been played - hope that's alright with everyone. <ok>

    Oh dear.
Thinking purely of England I was hoping for a draw.
I guess you boyos will be hoping England beat those pesky Yanks tonight in order to keep your dreams of second place alive?

Yep, but then we have to beat England. Pretty long odds on that happening.

Well, I’m looking at it from the fact that IF we beat the USA then we’re through. Southgate and the England team won’t want to risk picking up cards or injuries in what would be for us a meaningless game, before going into the knockout stages.
Wales by contrast would have nothing to lose and everything to gain - plus you lot are ALWAYS well up for it when playing against England - in any sport!!

Looking at it another way R&W. If USA beat England tonight say about 5-0, then Wales beat England by a similar score, we've got a chance.

We'd just need Iran to beat USA about 6-0 in their last game to go top of the group with 6 points. We'd go through in second place level on 4 points with England and USA but with a superior goal difference to both.

    It's a possibility anyway..........<laugh>

I won't argue with that - but even that is most unlikely,

We'd need Southgate to raid the commentry box and play Lineker, Shearer and Rio - and then we'd probably struggle.....<laugh>

At the moment, B365 are only offering 16/1 against us qualfying out of the group stage.

That's bloody ludicrous - I'd want at least treble figures the situation we're in - and then I wouldn't take it...........<laugh>
