Nothing personal but that phrase is starting to grate a little. The Government, and others, increasingly use it automatically as if it's some kind of magic eraser. "Yes we did some shameful things but made a kind of acknowledgement so it's time for everyone to move on." Those who doesn't 'move on' are portrayed as dullards dwelling in the past. Sorry but Neil was happy to accept the praise, now he can take the criticism. Every club has a history, with people fondly remembered and others not ... football fans have long memories and why not.
For me... He did a good job and got us away from League 1 He moved for more money and geographical reasons The way he moved was distasteful, shameless, and classless. That's all Ive got to say on the matter
I’ve even added “Alex Neil” to my blocked words or phrases on Twitter. **** him, don’t care what he spouts at all although I do hope he’s a massive failure at Stoke.
not taken personal at all mate. Been a full blown day where normally I'd havr elaborated more. When I said "On we move" I was meaning the way we're playing, some good results, players playing well, good place in the leauge etc. The Government analogy is a good one, pretty much saying "We've been bastards but coming on, let it go and move on". My "On we move" phrasing was more at "So what, we haven't let the grass grow, enjoy your oat cakes".
If it's that simple, why did he take the job in the first place? However, his short-term stint here, had a good outcome, so it wasn't all bad by any means.
It's all over mind, but he took the terms on offer because they were the best he could get. He took the terms on offer at Stoke for the same reason. All about cash, always was, always will be and fair enough, just wish they'd all stop pretending it wasn't. He'll be needing a win or two soon though or he'll be looking for terms somewhere else!
To be honest I don't even think any of the I'm here because it's a fantastic opportunity stuff is even that bad. Hardly going to say I'm here cause they pay more and its closer to the family is he? What will always mark him out as a **** is how quick it all happened, obvious he had been working away at it since we played them the week before. To also sit at their match when he was still officially our manager and we were playing is one of the most unprofessional and disrespectful things we have seen from a member of management or playing staff at this club and we have seen a lot! He could have still taken our match and went and sorted his move out Monday morning and I don't think most would have hated him as much as most us is do now!
Some chat that Alex Neil was watching our game in his Stoke training gear yesterday? Stoke are apparently out in Dubai at the same time. Seems bizarre, but have seen some grainy pics and it certainly could be him
I suppose we looked at arranging a game against anyone in country and decided to give them a wide berth
