Didn't catch that but to claim 1.1B fans out of 8 Billion people is a bit farfetched. Maybe they are American billions as opposed to regular billions?
Was in their official statement!! Most report put their global fanbase somewhere around 150m. Real/Barca some 100m ahead, again by a few different reports. Trying to stick an extra billion on the value. Some say it's £2bn valuation on the stock market, but claims they'll want DOUBLE!!!
That's probably it - not sure where I heard it but I'm sure someone to me said the other day Americans count 1 Billion as 100 million (150million would be 1.5 billion to them) where as the rest of the world it's 1000 million to a billion.
Exactly - tbh I'm not sure this is true because I can't figure how that would work but it sounds like the kinda backwards **** the Americans love - America: we're all billionaires The rest of the world: erm....
Rio can round up his money now and buy and them and run it how he likes and do what he thinks is right
Everyone uses the same definition of a billion now. Its 1,000,000,000. UK used to use 1,000,000,000,000 but not anymore. Think the reason they say it’s 1billion is they count all the Chinese, Indian Indonesian motorcycle drivers wearing fake United shirts as supporters even though they never buy any official merchandise.
I thought from what I saw it was mandated to wear a MUFC shirt with holes in it on a bike and for everyone to not wear helmets or pay attention to road etiquette?
Jim ratcliffe being strongly linked…. he’s a pauper with just £10bn. if he has to pay £6m for Manure thru will literally be more skint than under the Glazers. joyous. absolutely joyous.
I look at OGC Nice, also owned by Ratcliffe/Ineos, in a smaller league where transformative funds could easily get you CL football. They got into the qualifying round of the CL back in 17/18, but went out at that stage. They got to the last 32 of the Europa and ended 8th. Since then the highest they've been is 5th. Lovely training facility, everything is done to a very high standard but there's an unwillingness to spend on players. Now Man U have far bigger resources and 'pull', but I suspect it would be a longer game for Ratcliffe - OT is tired, Carrington hasn't been touched for a while (2013 were the last upgrades) and their production of youth isn't quite what it used to be. There's a lot of work to do and I don't think investment on the playing side would be Ratcliffe's priority.
