I should also be clear: I'm lowering expectations for the Canadian team both out of sheer pragmatism (we're probably going to lose), and also because I'm likely to be drunk and feisty tomorrow, because I promised a friend that I would be. So if I offer nothing but obscenities and suggestions that I'll commit arson, it's only because I mean it. And if I don't say anything, have the decency to provide me with an alibi.
All the best for tonight Schad. Be careful with your incendiary comments you may have heavily armed balaclava wearing police coming through your front door without opening it or ringing the bell.
Good luck Schad! Canada are definitely my second* team in this tournament. I reckon one of the David style names can do over Belgium. *possibly first
Not just when you're winning. My daughter was in Vancouver when the Canucks lost the Stanley Cup Final and the whole city exploded.
Canada really should have no fear when they play Croatia and Morocco. Very uninspiring game between the two.
Don't get me wrong, Belgium are still a very good side. But I see more weaknesses with them than the likes of France, England, Brazil, Germany etc. I think they're vulnerable to a shock exit similar to Argentina. I'm not jumping on the bandwagon either. I said before the tournament started I thought Argentina could be vulnerable to an early exit. Admittedly I didn't see them losing to Saudi Arabia though!
Bit late but I thought England would scrape a draw against a side even as lowly as Iran...based on past experience...which just proves what I know. I note that Iran are in the top 20 in world...find that hard to believe.
As clumsy as it was it looked to me as though the attacker dived after the first challenge and then the keeper fell over him as he was on the deck. Very soft
