Good Morning. It's Wednesday 23rd November, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Klich wants out

Mateusz Klich is set to quit Elland Road in January following an alleged falling out with Jesse Marsch. Already upset with the lack of first team opportunities, the 32yo was then dropped by the Polish National team; and it is believed he holds the American responsible. Klich may not have been fit for International duty anyway, after picking up a knock in the 1-0 League Cup defeat at Molyneux, that also kept him sidelined from the 4-3 loss at Spurs.

With 174 appearances to his name, Klich became a stalwart figure under Bielsa's tenure. He bossed the midfield week in, week out, until finally, his body gave out towards the end of the 20/21 season. By his own admission he was suffering from burnout, from which he has never truly recovered (if we are honest with ourselves).

He limped through the 21/22 campaign, looking a shadow of his former self. His pace had all but deserted him, his goals dried up, and was always second-best picking up loose balls. The statistics from the Wolves match tells it all - during the entire game, he didn't win a single duel.

    Grow a pair

The English and Welsh FA should be ashamed of themselves, after ordering their respective Captains not to wear the 'OneLove Armband', as it could result in a booking <yikes>.

Having had prejudice and discrimination issues rammed down our throats, at every opportunity over the last couple of years, it's unfathomable to believe that the risk of a yellow card would see a 180 degree U-turn in the principles of the FA bigwigs.

Underestimate Tyler Adams at your peril

Former England and Arsenal star Martin Keown has warned England, 'Underestimate Tyler Adams at your peril'. The football pundit was talking ahead of Friday's clash between England and the USA, with Tyler Adams and Brenden Arronson, both expecting to feature against the three Lions. Keown believes that the trio of Arronson, Adams and Pulisic could cause England problems, as both sides look to progress to the knock-out stage.

"The attacking midfielder (Adams) is living up to the hype after a bright start to his Premier League career at Leeds and will be the main support act for Pulisic. Underestimate him at your peril," "You are guaranteed 100mph football from the USA. It's all action and energy and England's defenders should expect a high-pressing game.

"Aaronson covers great distances, as does his Leeds team-mate Tyler Adams, hence why Jesse Marsch signed them both in the summer." "An ever-growing nation for football and with Pulisic probably their most gifted player, this hard-working group will give anyone a difficult game."

Guessing keown means Aaronson when he refers to attacking midfielder - or maybe he’s just a bit confused.

Klich has been great for us, under-rated by many in that bielsa team… he was the one who made the runs in behind to pull defenders out of position. We always looked worse when he was off the pitch. First half of the first season back in the Prem he was outstanding.

Quite a character too. If it’s time to move on he does so with a big thank you from this poster.

    Morning All

Klich is the only player left who knows how to get under the skin of the opposition, just like Alioski did, a good player to have on the bench who adds depth.

If he wants out that's fine, you can't blame him but throw in the fact Forshaw is long past his sell by date and Bamford is always on the treatment table (when he isn't still missing chances) means we really need to replace him or our depth just vanishes

The thing that gets me, is that over the last few years the FA have been really rammed the discrimination thing down our throats, yet the slightest consequence on wearing the 'OneLove' armband has them running for the hills.

It's a booking, so what! It just shows the shallowness and hypocrisy at the FA.

Get rid of Klich and Forshaw, and replace them with Greenwood and hopefully Weston Kennie, and thats our entire midfield sorted out

Greenwood was already listed as a squad player, we ended last season under strength and no depth, we are still in need of a CB, LB and Attacker, we are not going to get all three in this window yet alone start replacing the depth Klich gave us and a fit Forshaw would have done

With Kalvin Phillips behind him Klich had a great time under Bielsa and scored plenty of goals in the Championship. The Marsch system isn’t for Klich as he has much more work to do in the Marsch system than he did in the Bielsa era. Having 2 holding players behind him in theory means more running than when he just had the one behind him. Klich has been a fantastic servant and is a brilliant character so hope he gets what he’s after.

Even though clubs in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Holland and Belgium want him there are stories that he could be offered a 6 month deal with either Burnley, Blackburn or the blunts with a guaranteed huge bonus if promoted?

Was the feeling not that bielsaball eventually ran him into the ground? Personally, i think both bielsa and marsch systems are equally brutal in terms of work required from midfielders. Maybe the klich of 4 years ago would still have the legs for marsch ball… though perhaps not the pace to be ideal for his aggressive press

Klich has never been a prem standard player. People are saying his pace has gone but he never had any. As for goals those dried up three seasons ago.
I can see Dallas being his replacement about March time. Where is the budget for a striker/centre back and left back. We are going to have to offload the likes of Drameh and Gelhardt. Rads stated we would develop and sell and so it proved pre season with rapha and kalvin.

I should imagine klich will be looking for a minimum two and a half years contract. What happened to his desire to finish in Poland or has money changed his mind. Championship clubs would have to offer him a big package to improve on his Leeds contract. Could Blackburn and sheff utd etc really afford that.

But Klich and Forshaw are no longer players who have anything to add to the Leeds squad, so getting rid of them isn't going to hurt the team.

    100 percent.

He did his 3 years or so under Bielsa, and it more or less finished him off
