Shearer is a hypocrite in my view as he made no where as much noise about the Saudis buying Newcastle, wonder why that could be? Whats your views on the FA bottling the armband protest?
The whole competition is a sham and a disgrace. Anyone who has a moral compass and/or a conscience should boycott.
Not excusing Shearer’s lack of protest about the Saudi takeover. The FA, and the Welsh FA, are as bad as FIFA. Rotating the armband around the team would have got round the problem. In other news, Joe Lycette just won several arguments all at once:

Agree about rotating. Could have even have done it for one game only. Pass the armband around to get 4/5 players booked which would make Fifa look ridiculous and would have certainly got people talking. Shame really as taking the booking would have shown it to be an effective protest. Protests are a waste of time if you're tailoring them to suit the target.
