Checks all the boxes: big, fast, and on the pitch, unlike the norm at SAFC: slow, short, scrawny, or injured.
Always had a soft spot for the lad, in a manly way of course and it's pleasing to hear he's doing well. The grandsons team Morecambe are at Lincoln on Saturday and Tuesday in the EFL Trophy so will watch with great interest how he gets on. Why some fans have to be so negative towards some of our younger players trying to etch out a career in football is just beyond me, surly the word Supporter should tell them something.
Just don’t think he’s good enough. Not shown enough at any point for us imo. No worse than Dajaku, although the latter has spent a lot of recent time on the treatment table.
Diamond gave a MoM performance down at Lincoln in December 20-21 season in one of the few opportunities he has had, they were top of the league at the time and we won 0-4 with an assist and a goal from Jack, I have never seen Dajaku get close to that performance not even in the U21's never mind the first team.
When Ross Stewart, Ballard and Alese are back, and we have no injuries, the likes of Michut, Hume, Higgins, Bennette might not even be making the bench. The decision to loan out Diamond was manifestly and obviously the right one on so many levels.
Think you're right there mate. Although having said that the last time we played him upfront he did better than anyone aside from Stewart and Simms.
I remember that game. He was excellent. But I’ve seen that game only. He’s shown minor glimpses a few times but nothing more. I’ve seen those glimpses from Dajaku (granted never a full game’s worth). Neither are good enough imo huggins starts every week for me when fit
Yes he did and playing in the worst team Alex Neil ever picked, at least while he was here, and now we know why. I'm not saying he is the answer long term, my gripe is that players in on loan are given more rope than those coming through the U21's.
He was playing against Bali Mumba last weekend who scored for Plymouth yesterday - 4 goals and 4 assists for them. I thought Mumba showed great promise but it just didn't happen for him, local lad too iirc.
Mumba from what I have seen is obviously an attacking central mid field player with a sharp eye for goal. the senseless nitwits at our academy thought otherwise and insisted on playing him at full back, you could not make it up.
