You can say this about most long term mid table attacking players in the PL I think. On his day Redmond was probably as good as someone like Mahrez. Just Mahrez does it 1 in 2/3 games Redmond was like 1 in 15/20. Imagine that is the same with a number of other flair players who are at middle/bottom end PL teams
Frustrating that despite playing for us for lots of years, it feels like he’s scored more of these type of goals against us than for us!
The timing seems odd. New manager in place, a fresh start and chance to prove himself and get in the team (especially as ABK and Sally are away for the world cup). I wouldn't be surprised of something like this at the end of the season, but not now. Can't see us letting him go either, unless we are bringing Simeu back from loan
Lyanco has the potential to be a solid Premier League CB. I just think he needs to calm down and focus on being a footballer rather than an entertainer, or whatever it is that goes through his head. Hopefully Jones can sprinkle some man-management magic on him.
I don't foresee Lyanco ever being more than a depth option in the PL. His decision-making, while unquestionably hilarious and fun, is just shockingly bad at a position where you can't really have shockingly bad decision-making. And if that rumour is correct, it's a bit telling that no one in Europe seems to be lining up for his services.
Funnily enough, when he came on against Liverpool and clearly had his sensible head on, he actually looked a capable defender. When he's going "I AM GORILLA" he's hilarious, but a bit **** in reality. Great character and all that, but yeah...
Well there were clubs in Italy and Turkey reportedly looking at him in the summer. If clubs are put off him, I'd imagine its more to do with his mentality and behaviour than his actual ability. Ability-wise, he's good enough for most European leagues. If not the Prem, he is still good enough for the leagues in France, N'lands, Portugal...
Roma are willing to listen to offers for Tammy Abraham. We should be all over that, at least with the question.
I think he'd choose Villa over a lot of other PL clubs TBH. He's played there before, ambitious club, big name manager etc....
If Villa are willing to bring him over he will start for them. If that does happen I would certainly take Ings back - although we shouldn't pay much for him and no way would he command the sort of wages we offered him to stay.
Hasn’t Abraham’s fee gone north of 50m now? We aren’t getting near that. Would be a text book January signing for a side with a lot of money that is lower in the league than they’d like to be. Which is why Villa make sense as a link
