Always been a massive Ronaldo fan, love his winning mentality etc but this interview. Purely **** on “United” and makes me feel we weren’t the only ones with Fat Mike’s ****ty infrastructure and lack of care. Gotta admit I’m shocked he’s **** on his employers as much as he has though, whilst I admit I’ve always been a fan I do think his legs have gone. My most despised club so if anything it’s a pleasure seeing this carcrash happening there.
Think it works in their favour, sadly. Ronaldo is a huge problem for them, I reckon, but as far as I'm aware he was on a contractually agreed 'final warning' with Man U following two previous indiscretions, so this will be his exit from the club. Once he's gone I think they will improve. They're playing badly and winning, so without him being such a distraction I think they'll be galvanised.
This is a bizarre one. But he had nothing to lose other than his integrity and social standing. Unfortunately he has let his own ego be bigger than the club who once loved him. He feels betrayed. Fine: keep it behind closed doors. I understand he is frustrated. But he’s not the answer. This is a low shot from him and the club will have to simply terminate his contract. Which they will. And he will get his wish to leave. But I can feel a lawsuit coming for slander.
I think they'll just part ways. Personally think he's been a bit of a cretin slagging of Ten Haag and Ragnick. Just shows he's spat his dummy out at being overlooked because he's not what he once was (a poor man's Messi FWIW). He may well have hit the nail on the heads about the owners lack of spending and lack of sporting ambition which I'm sure is what the Man Utd supporters will eventually lap up. No way back for him at Man Utd, and our lot better stay well ****ing clear of him.
Incredibly talented athlete but with an ego that meant it was always going to be more about him than the team. He was able to almost single-handedly drag teams to trophies (Portugal in Euros) but, as his powers have waned he has had difficulty accepting a lesser role. Can’t see any top flight managers wanting to cross swords with him now and suspect he will either retire or go off to the MLS. United knew this was coming when they hired ten Haag and will be happy to see him gone.
He was just a really good striker though. Everyone's on his cock as some machine, he was fed continuously for years at Real Madrid, he went to Juventus and did a similar if not that immense job there. Ronaldo was at his peak as a pure player during his Man Utd years, he was absolutely rapid, worked hard, scored wonder goals and set them up. He was rivalling Messi with ease. At Real, I'd look at his stats and go, wow that's a lot of goals. I'd look at Messi play and go, wow, what a player.
The bit out of those clips that sums him up is that he didn't respect Ten Haag because Ten Haag didn't respect him. I imagine it genuinely never crossed his mind that respect is earned because to him it is always about him. He'll have spent all of his adult life surrounded by people feeding his ego, which is fine when he can live up to the adulation but makes him a cock now that he can't.
This. Fantastic player and has done incredibly well to keep himself fit enough to extend his playing career at the top level, but he needs to accept it's downhill now. His ego is now far bigger than his ability. It's ironic how he harps back to Fergie's days though. Does he forget that one of Fergie's strongest beliefs was that: "No person is bigger than the club"? Ronaldo seems to think he IS bigger than the club, its owners, recent managers and other players. Some might say it's that confidence / arrogance that has made him successful. But he's been very disrespectful and basically behaving like a spoilt little kid. All that said, it is amusing to see Man United appearing to be rotting from within.
If Ronaldo has criticised his club manager, all Man U have to do is a) terminate his contract and b) announce that legal action is to be served. That would be great for Portugal! He could end up being sent home if his presence will harm their team morale. That would be funny.
