Had a rehearsal call today, so had to record most of the game and just watched it back.
    Absolutely ****ing awesome.
Rashid and Curran were incredible with the ball.
    Well skippered by Buttler.
I was quite concerned watching our innings, but Stokes is an utterly fantastic batsman under pressure.
    Excellent from Moeen too.

    Get the **** in.

World Champions in both forms of the white ball game ! Superb achievement. Curran rightly named player of the tournament, magnificent. Rashid back to his best last 2 games, made such a difference. I did say that when the heat is on , Stokes simply refuses to lose. Be afraid, be very afraid lol !! You beauties. Where's Eric ?

No I'm not bitter and twisted in the slightest. It was a good game and I think, as was pointed out quite fairly elsewhere, it possibly turned on the injury sustained by Shaheen Afridi. Going into the last couple of overs needing 15 or so more runs could have made for a more interesting end. As for the weather, well you were lucky, storms to the north and storms to the south. Can't take it away form you though somehow you managed to get it across the line, I bet Ireland are feeling pretty smug this morning, anyway onto Adelaide.

We won it without Bairstow, Malan, Wood and Archer.

First side to hold both World Cups at the same time !! I seriously can't ever see us losing any final as long as Stokes is playing, the bloke is just a colossus in any high octane game. Nuts of steel

Someone once described him as brainless. He's anything but, of course. England's best ever all-rounder.

I love him , but don't know if I could put him above Botham especially bowling wise. He's won us 2 World Cups(albeit not on his own), but things are so different now. He hasn't gotta face that West Indies side for a start, and although he won us that memorable test at Headingley against the Aussies on his own legs not forget that Botham won the 81 Ashes series almost single handedly ! Both great great players , and Stokes has the better technique as a batsman but Botham's sheer array of power was on a different level in my opinion.

This has been done on here more than once before and there's obviously no definitive answer. Stoke's innings to beat the Aussies at Headingley was superior to any individual achievement by Botham in my opinion. Botham didn't win the 1981 Ashes on his own - don't forget he was sacked as captain after the Lord's test - Brearley and Willis were massive contributors, too. Botham was a better bowler - at least in his early days - than Stokes is, but Stokes is a massively better batsman than Botham ever was.

    In my opinion.

Which begs the question, why didn't Australia ask him to be their mens white ball coach ?

Because we are too busy worrying about if our sponsors are wokey enough for our captain.

It’s a very important issue, far more than an Test format, l’ll have you know!

    Congratulations on your wins ……
    as you were….

Because, and bear with me, Andrew MacDonald was born and played for Victoria and so is obviously considered superior to Matthew Mott who was only born in Queensland and played for Queensland before turning traitor by playing for Victoria. Obviously there is no interstate rivalry in Australia and we are all one happy united continent.

Our 2nd string 11 lost to Australia in tge 1st 50 over gane of 3 despite a superb ton from Malan. I really hope Stokes reverses his decision to retire from this format, he surely has 1 more World Cup in him with it only being next year. He makes such a difference.
