Greatwood Hurdle recent winners and trends:

A class horse can take this off top weight (e.g. Menorah) and I Like To Move It does go well fresh - he was probably over the top at the festival and 142 doesn't look an impossible ask. Mullins horses are always to be respected but the hurdles form of Dads Lad has been pretty miserable thus far, whilst Gin Coco has the very poor favs stat to overcome. Sonigino has gone up 10lbs but is trained by and absolute master of his profession and can certainly go on progressing. Lots of ponderables but I'll stick with I Like To Move It off top weight.

The Shloer Chase looks an absolute belter today. 3 runners at the leading race track in England for national hunt horses. Wow.

Poor decision from Alan King pulling Edwardstone out. It isn't dangerous ground and we all know if this were March he would be running.

Don’t agree, no point risking a horse on ground that is fast enough. One mistake at speed and it can be the season ruined. Also not the courses fault in this situation as they’ve watered and ground is pretty lovely for what they have been played by the weather

Nice renewal of the Lismullen Hurdle at Navan - although clearly it is a pipe-opener for the principals. I thought Ashdale Bob might be a bit of value in the race.

In the Class-1 Handicap Hurdle at Cheltenham over an extended 2m. (14:55), have a couple who might run well at good odds, namely Severance and Nina The Terrier.

Best early prices are 10/1 and 18/1 respectively. E/W on both with a 'Hail Mary' reverse forecast!. Dream on! <whistle> :bandit:

The low sun is becoming a problem at Cheltenham.

But it isn't Cheltenham. The trial meeting there in Novemeber wouldn't look out of place in Clonmel here of a Thursday. What did we see over the few days? One, maybe 2 good performances and the rest would be doing well in some handicaps. Piss poor quality.

I think the ground clearly played a part - just as it did in Navan. The time to judge the quality of the meeting is in a couple of months when we see the value of the form going forward.

Only just caught up with the racing today and 2 very good weight carrying performances at Cheltenham with Does He Know and I Like to Move It both defying top weights. Fair play to them. Also I note that James Reveley continues to coin it in over in France. A hat trick at Auteuil today yielding him the jockey % of nearly £400k in prize money. Luverly jubbly Rodney.
