Absolutely agree with that. And I think this might be the case for a lot of footballers this weekend. Honestly don’t see the point of anyone risking it.
If it was me I'd probably be the same. It's his last chance of a tournament, he's done well for us this season and deserves to go, if he's not 100% to play tomorrow then i don't want him playing.
It’s a massive thing for the players to get to a World Cup and this is his only opportunity. Don’t think this isn’t massive for him. It’s the holy grail.
Short term yes but long term we need to be seen as a team that players can come to and get picked for their country. Everyone knows that some players get picked becuase they play for the "right clubs" and some players just don't.
prediction.......... doesn't get a minute in first 2 games, gets a token 8 minutes in the 3rd group game and ****s his calf up
To follow that up, I find it interesting that there was a push in certain quarters for Dan Burn to make it into the squad and yet Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster are both English and were generally chosen ahead of him at Brighton - I have little doubt that they are often overlooked because they play for Brighton.
Unlike unlike unlike Even if he doens't play, he's a great character to have around the squad and you just know he'll love simply being there.
Thats all well and good, but A) I'm a Newcastle fan not an England fan B) NUFC pay his wages not the FA C) Last but by no means least, I'm Scottish so **** England.
Not as much as I was on Wed night and that **** just about put me to sleep, Thank **** it went straight to penalty's because no sod needed to endure another 30 mins of that. Whilst we're on the subject, if that's how we perform when FF rocks up he'll be watching games in Shearers bar from now on
Our recent run has been built on a solid defence. We may have been scoring a lot of goals against the lower sides but against the better teams it has been a case of keeping it tight. I wouldn't start with St Maximin - Willock was very good against Southampton so keep him in. If Wilson is unfit I might be tempted to leave out Wood and try a different combination with St Maximin. I think Wood will be playing right into Silva and Chalobah's hands. It would be interesting to give them a more mobile front line with no outright no. 9. If Wilson is unfit I would go with: Pope Trippier Schar Botman Burn Longstaff Guimares Willock Almiron St Maximin Hoping though that Wilson is up for it and then just replace St Maximin with him.
You’d only play 9 outfield players? I think I’d go with the traditional 10 and have Big Joe on the left wing. Aside from that I agree entirely.
It has been a bit easy with the full 11 this last month but yea - I forgot Murphy, but would replace him for this one with Joelinton. Although now we are in the Big 6 he might actually get the penalty awarded against Chalobah.
Well it’s match day so if tash and his match day cause us to not win, he’s banned from making these threads for a month. I also hope the cow killers amongst us are ready to play their part.
