Blatantly obvious we need to be replacing Llorente, Firpo, Harrison and Bamford in the transfer window. Equally as worrying we know that won’t happen so I’m guessing priority will be Striker/Forward and LB

Don’t think we will. Numerous owners and coaches and our approach to the cups remains the same

Whilst everyone is writing Bamford off he's still the best we have at the club in his position.

Just noticed Tottenham put out what was probably their best team available tonight and still got beat.

Thought Firpo did OK. Traore still skinned him a couple of times but Firpos usual tactic of just charging head first at the person with the ball actually works on that type of player.

None of Gelhardt, Perkins, Joseph created anything in open play and didn't really get anywhere. Yes they all did that wishy washy twist and turn and nutmeg and stuff but actually created **** all from it in 90 minutes. Harrison was the most dangerous of the lot and he was terrible. They're not getting a pass just because they are younger. They aren't ready. Joseph was the pick of the bunch because on numerous occasions he received the ball and dragged us up the pitch.

Gyabi needs to learn that he doesn't have the time for 3 or 4 touches in midfield. He is dispossessed too often and, as we have seen far too often, that leads to conceding goals at PL level. He's a liability and I'd hate to play alongside him. He is an athlete, super strong, decent touch, good turn of pace but you can't be letting it through your legs and trying to turn your marker on the edge of your own 18 yard box. He's too naive and if he doesn't learn he can go. He's a frustrating one because he can do the hard stuff (the stuff you can't teach) but he is too thick to know when to do it. Hopefully he gets his head on and learns because he has everything else in his locker.

Thought Hjelde was immense. On that performance he might be the best centre half at the club given the rest of them playing up at the moment.

I must agree pretty much with what you say about Gyabi, but if he is coached right we might have a very good player on our hands.

    There’s two broad approaches.
    - Play your normal bench and fill up with normal starters - with the rest of your starters on the bench.
    - play your bench and fill up with kids with kids on the bench

We took a fairly extreme version of option 2. Newcastle and a fair few Prem sides yesterday did option 1.

Most of them with bigger, stronger squads and not looking over their shoulders at relegation places. So maybe one day we’ll be in a similar position and do the same. Hey we can dream <ok>

Agree re gyabi… he looks like he has the attributes… needs to learn when and where to do it. He’s only 18. You get far less time on the ball in man’s football - though when I watched the 21s he does it for them too. Some learn, some never seem to. Good experience for him yesterday.

Not happening. Remember January a bad time to do business and you only buy players who’ll add to the squad blah blah

Best we have, that says it all really. Probably amongst the worst 5 strikers in the PL and he’s our main man. That’s ignoring the fact he’s so brittle

I thought Gyabi did well when you consider that was his first taste of first team football. He was alongside Klich who is far from disciplined in his positioning which left the kid exposed. He was up against Neves who is a very experienced Portuguese international.
I thought he got stuck in and wasn't overawed by the situation. I thought that if he'd had Adams or Roca alongside him he'd have been much more comfortable but he is only 18.
Jimmy took quite a few games to settle in, these lads were just chucked in on their debuts.
I think the Wolves manager told his players to close them down quicker 2nd half which caused the kids more problems.
I think if we'd had Jimmy on the right instead of Jack we'd have wonnthat game. He spent all night running into trouble. When he did get a chance to deliver it was woeful.
I think Joseph looks a very good prospect, I think he can lead the line better than Joffy.

no point in adding a warm body for the sake of it <laugh>

To be fair some of our past Jan signings are more like warm carcasses - only warm because they’re rotting
