Have to remember that the club will need to speak to any candidate we're interested in. Just because it's been announced that Luton have given us permission to speak to Jones, doesn't mean he is the only candidate we are (or will be) speaking to. I'd like to hope not, anyway. We need to have spoken to a range of candidates before making a decision.

Well, it's not at all who I wanted and I have some pretty major reservations over his appointment (should it be so) - but I'll get behind Jones. Lawrie Mac came from Grimsby and Nigel came from Scunthorpe so I won't be too dismissive of the job he's done with Luton...
Difference is Howe went up through the leagues so knew the players inside out when Bournemouth got promoted to the PL the first time. I don't think anyone thought he would do this well at Newcastle to be fair.
As you all know I am a positive person. Just feels all all wrong this. Don't know who I would like in, but this feels wrong and like Saints of old and very makeshift.

I'm not sure. His Stoke record is a worry but it's interesting to read the Howe comparisons given his struggles at Burnley in similar circumstances. It'd be a bit underwhelming for sure but I like that SR are going for someone who they think fits the club rather than a flavour of month or merry go round type manager. May or may not work out but they'll have to live or die by the decision. Same as the decisions around attacking reinforcements in January as that's just as important. What's the worst that can happen anyway

Not quite. His name was mentioned on SW about a month or so ago as someone we were looking at (or had spoken to, can't remember exactly). It was so random I remember thinking there might be a bit of truth in it.
