I think yes, a good loan signing can really bring a positive impact. AKA Akinde As has been said before keeping Basey (just seen we have him till January, great) and Rowlands would be great but Benyon should go (I wanted to see him do well with Ruth up front but that never happened.) I have seen Oldham, Rochdale and Yeovil get young players from Premiership clubs recently and wonder why we could only get Bignall? Is it money, not a fashionable club, contacts? I thought we had a good relationship with Chelsea? A good striker on loan (to replace Benyon) could really see us move up the table. Any thoughts?
I'm going to be bold here and say benyon's time at the club isn't over just yet. I know he has been incredibly poor so far this season, but to give him his due he got injured and missed pre-season, and he had to fit into a new club, which isn't always easy. Also, he's been banging them in for the reserves if that's anything to go by. Cast your mind back to last season, when rendell took a long time to settle and ended up being our top scorer. A lot depends on how he performs against Fleetwood, as I predict waddock will weaken the team for that one.
totally agree with you, that has been one of waddocks main failures not getting a decent striker in to partner beever.class strikers win you games ,just look at the charlton game and bradley wright phillips 2 very well taken goals, look at lowe a real preditor who knows where the goal is,there are loads of decent young strikers playing for the premier teams reserves and youth teams who go out on loan with lower division clubs and do well but we never ever get them.maybe we should have risked some decent money on a loan striker or actually bought one instead of wasting money on the likes of halls and tunny and benyon etc who havent improved our team at all.
