Shocked to be sitting here. Been a few reports recently of him being unsettled and as the saying goes, there's no smoke without fire.
I'd be sad to see him go. There's a player there but he needs the right environment and we're clearly not it. But then neither were Fenerbahce so who knows
Bit like Markovic, or Ben Arfa, there's only so much you can coddle and accomodate players like that before you say that if they're not up to standard it's a them issue not a club issue.
Weird to put Markovic and Ben Arfa in the same sentence. Markovic was very good for us in his short spell here
He was, and everywhere else he has been..? I wasn't talking specific to City, I was using examples of two players who have played for City but have bounced around a lot of clubs because of attitude issues. Silva is an exceptional manager at getting those sorts of players firing, look at Willian for Fulham now after a couple of poor years.
Silva is just an outstanding manager. He's definitely a top 6/8 manager, he has just knackered himself in the past by being a mercenary. I hope he stays at Fulham and builds something there
Lad could add millions to his career if he took on a work ethic. Let's see what transpires... 'reports' that Seri wasn't as injured as was the official line in the last weeks of Shota also. Tufan has the ability to be a PL player if he wants it enough. If not then we'll get a decent outbound fee to reinvest I'd have thought.
I agree, he jumped before he could walk. He may well have been better off staying with City and gaining more experience of the English game, than going to Watford who are renowned for having little patience when it comes to managers. Though Everton at the time turned his head again which proved to also be ill-fated.
Pretty hard to criticise his decision making in terms of where he is and we are IMHO. Right manager at the wrong time under the wrong circumstances under bad ownership.
Who knows where we would be if he stayed? I appreciate that Ehab Allam at this stage was in his penny-pinching mode, but one might hope if Marco had stayed and they saw a chance of getting back to the EPL, maybe things might have been different, but there again maybe not.
Easy to forget we did actually splash a lot of cash that summer, it just happened to be spent really awfully.
That was the summer prior to Marco arriving, mainly Ryan Mason who of course was injured in the same month of January when Marco arrived.
Sorry, I meant the Championship summer, I thought we were hypothesising about how we would have done had he stayed.
According to the HDF we are interested in Malcolm Ebiowel from Palace on loan. A winger (don't know which side) from Crystal Palace - used to be at Derby when Rosie was there
Markovic was a brilliant player and he was unlucky he was out of Fulham before Silva got the gig, he'd have got played under him. Useless piece of trivia, he only made one appearance for Fulham and that was as a sub, where he came on for some bloke called Seri.
